Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Army named after A.V. Alexandrova Artistic Director - Gennady Sachenyuk
The twice Red Banner Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Army named after A.V. Alexandrov is often equated with such well-known Russian brands as the Bolshoi Theater, the Hermitage, and the Tretyakov Gallery. This legendary team has been striking the world with its brilliant creative skills for 90 years.
The ensemble and its artists have received many Soviet, Russian and international awards. The choir is recognized as one of the best male choirs in the world. In his art, the harmony and purity of the sound of the academic chapel are combined with the bright emotionality and spontaneity inherent in folk performance. The success of the choir, soloists and dance group largely depends on the sound of the orchestra. Its composition is unique: along with Russian folk instruments (domras, balalaikas, button accordions), the orchestra includes wood and brass instruments.
The team began its history back in 1928 and then consisted of 12 people. Nowadays the ensemble employs about 200 people: soloists, male choir, orchestra, dance group. The repertoire of the collective includes more than two thousand works: folk songs and dances, sacred music, works of Russian and foreign composers, masterpieces of world rock and pop music.
