The patron saint of Ireland, Saint Patrick (5th century), showed the world many miracles. Many legends are associated with his name, and today there are traditional March parades. In the House of Music, concerts dedicated to St. Patrick's Day are always accompanied by sold out houses, especially if the pioneers of the style of pipe music in Russia are on stage, the only orchestra of Scottish bagpipes and drums in Moscow!
For Russia, bagpipes are almost an exotic instrument, and in 2004, under the direction of Artemy Vorobyov, the first Russian professional bagpipe orchestra was created, possessing an amazing sound power and a unique attractive force. The bagpipes have only nine notes, but there are many playing techniques, each of them must be honed over the years to achieve ease and virtuosity of performance.
The Moscow pipers' orchestra performs not only national Scottish and Irish melodies, but also music of various styles. The orchestra consists of large Scottish bagpipes, marching drums and a rock band. All the performances of the band are decorated with original staging numbers and unexpected author's arrangements, so every concert of the Moscow Pipers Orchestra is full of real surprises.
At the House of Music, viewers will find traditional Scottish classics, modern rock and fusion arrangements, hits of rock music on bagpipes and drums, bright fashion shows, drum fireworks and, of course, an incendiary drum show.
