Story
The play of the young Ural playwright Ivan Andreev "I'm Afraid to Become a Kolya", which won the "Eurasia" competition and entered the top ten plays of 2016 following the results of the "Culmination" contest, was first performed on the stage of the Moscow Art Theater at one of the evenings of the cycle "The Reading Circle" Dramaturgy. The play was an obvious success and was accepted for staging.
Director Marina Brusnikina: "Ivan Andreev is a young talented author. It is very important to hear young voices in art, to know that the new generation is thinking about our life today. The main character of the play "I'm Afraid to Become a Kolya" is also very young. He travels from Bashkortostan to Ekaterinburg in a second-class car, watches life and describes what is happening in letters to his bride. In this story, written with an incredible sense of humor, reflects our reality, everything is recognizable - and conversations, and situations, and types. We hope that the performance, which once again combined the acting team, which was formed on the "Prolet Goose", "Sonechka" and "Fools' Village", will also turn out to be fun and will be a real gift for the audience. "
Attention! In the play, as in life in a second-class car, sometimes there is an obscene lexicon.
