The vocal-instrumental ensemble "Samotsvety" was founded in 1971 by a graduate of the Moscow Conservatory. P.I. Tchaikovsky Yuri Malikov. The collective quickly won all-Union fame and became truly "folk" thanks to such songs as "My address is the Soviet Union", "Near the village of Kryukovo", "The whole life is ahead", "Bagulnik", "There, behind the clouds", "Bamovsky Waltz" "," Everything in life I have "and many others.

The rapid flowering of the genre of VIA in the early 70's led to the fact that by the end of the 80's many collectives, including "Samotsvety", in their relevance began to yield to the emerging new trends in popular music, which led to many From them to the stop of the guest performances. The ensemble received its second breath in the mid-90's, when Yuri Malikov decided to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the foundation of VIA "Samotsvety", collecting many of its participants and fellow artists into the TV program "Golden Hit". The unexpected success of this telecast pushed him to the idea that it would be possible to try to continue the concert activity. As a result, former soloists of the collective, as well as invited musicians and singers, began to successfully tour again. The created concert program organically united in itself an extraordinarily careful interpretation of the famous "gem" hits with bright vocal and actor works by Elena Presnyakova, Alexander Nefedov, Oleg Sleptsov and talented arrangements by Georgy Vlasenko. Along with this, the group continued work on new works, creating several compositions in the best traditions of the genre, such as "Last Year's Eyes", "Ragtime on Titanic", "Snow of Christmas", in which the great merit of Vladimir Petrovich Presnyakov.

Elena Presnyakova - Honored Artist of Russia. Soloist from the end of 1975 to the present. Before "Gems" had a lot of experience working on the stage, performing in various ensembles. In 1975, together with her husband Vladimir Presnyakov was invited by Yuri Malikov to the ensemble "Samotsvety", which he works to the present. In 2002, she was awarded the title of "Honored Artist of Russia".

Alexander Nefedov - a professional singer, in the ensemble "Gems" has been working since 1980. He graduated from the Musical College. Ippolitova-Ivanova. He came to "Gems" from VIA "Sing Guitars" in 1980 as a vocalist. He plays rhythm guitar and percussion instruments. During the suspension of the concert activity of the "Gems" he was engaged in a solo career. In 1992, according to a survey of the press, he entered the top ten singers of the country.

Oleg Sleptsov - began his creative career in three years with participation as a model in the shows of Soviet and French fashion designers during the festival of youth and students in 1957. In 1960 he was filmed at the Mosfilm studio in the film "Three Hours on the Road." He graduated from the conservatory music school. Tchaikovsky piano class, Gnesin Musical College, Academy of Arts and postgraduate studies in class - pop vocal. In 1991 Created a group "Tele-pop show", which was attended by: Jimmy Gee, Mr. Boss, Yula, Alexey Pervushin. In parallel, he worked in the team of Dmitry Malikov. Since 1981. Georgy Vlasenko is a graduate of Kharkov Conservatory in the class of choral conducting. He worked in popular pop groups of the USSR. Actively takes part in all the arrangements of the group, plays keyboards, is an excellent tutor. Work in the professional scene began in 1975 in the Belarusian Philharmonic in the ensemble of singer V. Vuyachich. Since 1977 he worked in the Moscow concert programs of the variety show. He was engaged in recording music for films at the studio "Mosfilm." Since 1981 he worked in Stas Namin's group "Flowers". From 1987 to 1995 he worked in ensembles of Laima Vaikule and Mikhail Muromov. In the ensemble "Samotsvety" began working in 1985.
