A performance based on Ray Bradbury's novel

In the 1960s, when Ray Bradbury's book "451 degrees Fahrenheit" appeared in Russia, everyone read it, it was passed from hand to hand. Today, forty years later, the Moscow Theater Et Cetera undertook to reread this cult novel and discovered that in the predictions of the famous American science fiction our today's problems common to all the inhabitants of the world are emerging.

Bradbury tells a fantastic story as quite real, exciting, as an action-packed detective ...

The accidental meeting of a young girl and a fireman burning a book, explodes the programmed life of the city, where people live who perform exclusively other people's teams, survive only other people's dramas, looking at the big screens of televisions placed everywhere. Everyone who desires to break out of the program is doomed. And yet a person decides to revolt. His story is a story of insight and love, finding freedom to think, feel, this is the story of chase and death.

Fire, devouring culture, is a metaphor from which the world of Bradbury emerges. And this fantastic and so frighteningly real world of Bradbury arises on stage, giving viewers a chance to hear a warning from a transatlantic thinker.

Fire devours books. Together with the books people and people are burning.

What a terrible world! It is forbidden to read, think, even feel. People are forced to execute other people's commands, to live on orders from their superiors.

Guy works as a fireman. And fires arrange itself - burns books and houses of those who hid these books. But Gaius does not understand how you can sacrifice your life for books.

In a beautiful new world, it's only allowed to watch TV, mostly soap operas. Huge video screens replace the walls of apartments. People live in a virtual world.

Guy decides to break the law and take himself to read the forbidden book. It was the Bible.

To understand a complex book, he is looking for those who could help him. Culture fascinates and beckons him. Is it really that when he burns books, he kills everything human in himself?

In a country devastated by war, there are very few people who teach books by heart, so that later, if they manage to survive, transfer their knowledge to the next generations.

Gaya was betrayed by the closest. He is sought by the authorities, he is forced to hide. His whole life is a flight from chase. Next to him are his friends, connoisseurs of books.

A nuclear explosion covers the city. Black ash falls asleep. But hope dies last.

Where books burn today, tomorrow people will be burned.
