In the theater “AleCo” premiere of the musical Alexei Kozyrev “Verona” based on the novel by Luigi Da Porto about Romeo and Juliet, which was written in Italy many years before Shakespeare was born!
Alexander Barayev, a famous Moscow composer, the main arranger of the Voice and Children Voice projects, the author of music for many films, performances and musicals, composed great songs especially for Verona.
Spectators will meet with the already popular masters of the scene, as well as with very young actors, vocalists. So in one of the project’s leading roles, viewers will be able to see Andrei Kluban, a Muscovite who is well known to us from Golos– Children and Natalie Kozyrev, a very young but already leading actress of the ALEKO theater, a winner of prestigious international competitions. And in a different line-up, Sergei Denisov played the leading role in the cult musical “The Vampire Ball” and fifteen-year-old Maria Davitaia, winner of the title “Voice of Sofia”, winner of the “Talents of Russia 2018” and the International Vocal Competition of Georgia.
The author and director of "Verona" - AleKo Kozyrev, artistic director of AleCo, in a completely new way presented the well-known sad story of two young lovers, retaining the touching romance of the characters and the originality of the life and customs of Italy of the sixteenth century. His poems, written in an elegant and, at the same time, very simple language, freely and organically lay down on the magnificent music of the project.
In addition to truly hit music, high poetry and acting success, the project will surprise you with complex artistic and technical solutions, circus acts, original design, special effects and powerful video content. And, which is especially rare for this, basically, “import” genre, “Verona” is exclusively a Russian project, which, according to experts, will not prevent it from competing with the world's best musical productions, including the well-known Broadway shows.
