Soundram on the story of Mikhail Bulgakov
The new theatrical direction of the soundroom for the first time master the classics: Vladimir Pankov puts Mikhail Bulgakov's prose. In the play "Morphine" a synthesis of the most different techniques, peculiar to a variety of theatrical genres. But the basis of everything is music, it controls dramatic action. Through music, you can subtract the stage text of the play, it gives a cipher to all artistic images. The music in the play is the arias from the opera Aida, and the sounds of nature, and village songs. Speech characters, opera fragments, instrumental music, body language, singing - all these elements form a single text, which, in turn, also becomes music. Replicas of characters, a combination of pauses and sounds are poured into the construction of a musical phrase, form it. Music and contrasts with ordinary speech, and absorbs it into itself as one of the colors, they interpenetrate, form an additional volume, expanding the scope of the usual dramatic performance. All the elements of the play create a completely new theatrical language, a new form that develops already found in previous performances of the studio "SounDrama".
The play "Morphine" is a detailed study of the disintegration of the human personality, the human consciousness. But this is not a documentary presentation of the medical history, but a history of the death of the human spirit. The case of Dr. Polyakov is only an occasion to consider a phenomenon of a global scale: a person who can not resist life prefers to go into a world of illusions. A weak man, being unable to fight for himself, plunges into a process of desperate self-destruction.
The play is without intermission
