(based on the novel by Jean Cocteau "Les Enfants Terribles")
Russian premiere
Small stage
On March 12 and 13, the Russian premiere of Philip Glass's opera Les Enfants Terribles / Cruel Children will take place on the Small Stage of the theater.
“We continue to expand the repertoire boundaries of the theater, which has been working for audiences of all ages for several years. So, along with performances for children and adolescents, we also stage works that are completely exclusive for the opera world - exclusive not only for Moscow and Russia, but also for Europe. Only on our stage you can hear the old Spanish opera by Juan Hidalgo de Polanco "Love Kills" and the anti-opera of our contemporary Vladimir Martynov "Guido's Exercises and Dances". “Cruel Children” by Philip Glass continues this series of musical discoveries that our theater makes, ”said Georgy Isahakyan. He stressed that the upcoming performance will be aimed at older teenagers and adults. “This is the story of the complex and dramatic transition of the protagonists from childhood to adulthood, told in the language of contemporary music,” he added.
