State Academic Voronezh Russian Folk Choir named after K.I. Massalitinova is rightfully recognized as one of the best professional folk groups in Russia. For many years, the choir has preserved and successfully presented to the audience the unique traditions of the South Russian Voronezh song and dance culture.
On April 4, the famous Voronezh choir will for the first time give a large solo concert in one of the best metropolitan halls - the Hall of Church Cathedrals of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
Low chest female voices saturated with a soft velvet timbre will spill from the stage in a powerful palette. Viewers will see an organic combination of vocals and vibrant dance numbers based on folklore traditions. All the colorful action is accompanied by an orchestra of folk musical instruments, which not only accompanies the team, but also masterfully performs its solo numbers. Reviving ancient, truly folk forms of collective art, the choir makes extensive use of all the genre diversity of folklore of the Voronezh region.
The range of works performed by the collective is wide and diverse - from songs that sound like a cappella, to ditties and songs of modern authors; from grand dances to incendiary dances.
Over its nearly seventy-year history, the choir has shown the audience a great many brightest, unforgettable concert numbers, many of which have long become classics of the genre. But the creative team continues to delight the audience with new productions. These are separate song, dance, orchestral numbers, vocal and choreographic compositions and entire blocks of the concert program.
