The program, code-named “TT”, is a joint creative project of two brilliant St. Petersburg groups: the “Terem Quartet”, which has become a symbol of the modern city on the Neva, and the Taneyev Quartet, founded in 1946 and resumed its activity thanks to the arrival of young musicians from the legendary Honored Collective of Russia, Academic Symphony Orchestra of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic. Each of the quartets occupies its own solid niche in the Russian musical culture: the Taneyev Quartet - in the classics, the “Terem Quartet” - in the “crossover” genre.
In the new program, the Terem Quartet offers the Taneyev Quartet to step into a new territory for them, cross the boundaries of their genre, experiment, play, and possibly win ... Making music together, but without changing their creed and preserving their own unique style, Terem-Quartet and Quartet them. Taneyev will give a concert at the intersection of genres. The result of their experimental work is striking in its novelty and audacity. The program includes works by I. S. Bach, L. van Beethoven, P. Tchaikovsky, F. Schubert, A. Glazunov, S. Prokofiev in the original versions and author's arrangements of the Terem Quartet, as well as compositions by Yu. Krasavin, E. Petrov , A. Tchaikovsky and A. Khrushcheva, created by composers specifically for the TT project. The concert promises the audience a charge of crazy drive and positive, a jewelry level of performance, unexpected in its originality arrangements of widely known and beloved tunes.
