Sometimes young children don't want to do the MOST SIMPLE THINGS. Wash, eat potatoes from the soup and steamed vegetables, wear a hat, go to bed. And parents should come up with the simplest solutions to these incredibly complex tasks.
Usually young children ask questions. VERY ADULT QUESTIONS. They ask us about friendship, about love, about family, about loneliness, about pain and cruelty, about beauty and ugliness ... And parents should find simple answers to the most difficult questions in the world.
For centuries, parents play with children and tell them fairy tales. And in fairy tales there are always keys to the most difficult tasks. It turns out that all serious conversations and all the most serious things in the world can be solved by playing with your children.
However, it is still unknown who teaches whom to believe in good, love and magic. Who teaches whom to find answers.
I came up with this opera to talk to my daughters. Or vice versa, so they talk to me. About serious and simple.
To love and understand opera and ballet, to make musical theater understandable for everyone - for this, Natalia Sats created the Children's Musical Theater. She loved very much when viewers came to the play with their whole families, from young to old. I hope Edible Fairy Tales will be one of those performances that are interesting to everyone.
