The play tells about three women thrown out by the Soviet system from normal human life, in different ways found themselves in a small provincial Asian town. A talented doctor is the daughter of an "enemy of the people" with a Jewish name, the leader of the gang, who was just released from prison and an ardent admirer of the Stalinist regime, who did not realize the tragedy of her life. They meet for a short time, meet to save each other, to help survive at a critical moment and, then, - to part forever.

In the most hopeless situation, a person has a choice - to remain a Man, in spite of everything, or to cease to be him. The terrible time - the last months of Stalin's life, repression, the case of murder doctors, persecution, betrayal - are the proposed circumstances that make heroines show the strongest traits of their personalities.

It is no accident that the title of the play, as well as the title of the story, is Lyubka. Love is what moves the world. In whatever circumstances life puts a person, love is the most disinterested of all feelings, before which any circumstances are surrendered.
