The leading artists of the Moscow theaters - L.Titov (Maly Theater), N.Krasnoyarskaya (Bolshoi Theater), A.Gulyarenko (Gogol-Center Theater), L.Matasova (Gorky Moscow Art Theater), T. Tashkov (Theater of the Actor) ), D.Novikov (The Sphere Theater), N.Agapova, S.Semyonova, D.Koshmin (St. Petersburg) and P.Tikhomirov (IDA Yablochkina) created a single actor's ensemble to talk about Zinaida Reich , Isadore Duncan, Galina Benislavskaya - women surrounding Sergei Yesenin. An attempt to recreate the image of the Poet without a textbook gloss, with the help of those who loved him and at various times was with him. Contemporaries testify, recall, refute versions, offer their own. Read poetry, each in its own way, and not only Yesenin. As a result, the poet wants to re-read, but to understand the person.
Natalia KAZMINA, Theater Critic
The play about the Poet - especially about the legendary poet, about the genius, about the real and controversial historical person - is always a problem, always an adventure.
It is easy to get carried away by words and rhythms and to miss the meanings, the meaning of the whole. It is difficult to find the form, the sequence of the story and the intonation. To do this, you need a lot: knowledge of biography, a sense of fate, a sense of the scale of the hero, a taste for his poetic word. Finally, love is needed, which only hinders. She has to be humble all the time, so as not to look banal and verbose. We need a company, because one can not raise this kind of love.
When it comes to Yesenin, whose "straw", sentimental and sweet image has long settled and lives in educational literature, in public opinion, as a stamp, one must have both insanity and insolence in order to fight this vulgarity.
In Pavle Tikhomirov and his company of actors - Lyudmila Titova, Natalia Krasnoyarskaya, Anna Gulyarenko, Lidia Matasova, Tatyana Tashkova, Nina Agapova, Svetlana Semenova, Dmitry Novikov, Dmitry Koshmin, who play "Leaflets from Burned", there is love, and there is none self-interest. There is a share of creative insanity, delicacy towards their common hero and responsibility for what has been done. Undoubtedly, the desire to do their job well, honestly and sincerely. (Too today the quality is rare) They, for sure, the company, they are well together, it is very visible from the audience. Other than how to explain that people so busy with their direct duties in different theaters and on different shooting sites, people have been gathering together for so many years to talk and talk about Yesenin? If the play about the Poet evokes a desire to remove from the shelf a volume of his poems and to recount the forgotten or in due time missed, generally to revise his attitude towards him, finally, to continue the conversation with the actors and ask them what is left behind, but you can guess, this good performance. Such actions are expensive.
