The writer and screenwriter Nikolai Erdman was one of the most talented and witty people of his time. The screenwriter of the films "Merry Fellows" and "Volga-Volga", "Actress", "Brave People", "Zastava in the mountains", author of brilliant plays "Mandate" and "Suicide", co-author of such directors as Vs. Meyerhold and N. Okhlopkov, R. Simonov and Yu. Lyubimov, the creator of numerous interludes for the performances of the Vakhtangov Theater, libretto of operettas and pop miniatures. His performance M. Levitin would like to recall this great talent, presenting brilliant examples of his cheerful and bitter wit.

In the play, interludes were used for the old productions of the Vakhtangov Theater Hamlet, Two Veronets, Lev Gorych Sinichkin, Princess Turandot, the operetta Die Fledermaus, pop and circus miniatures, letters and memoirs.
