On the street, she meets a mysterious stranger who leads her to her apartment. There Kashtanka gets acquainted with a goose, a cat, and a pig. These unusual animals can sing, dance, and even shoot a cannon. Because all of them are circus artists! The stranger who sheltered Kashtanka turns out to be a clown. At first, Kashtanka's relations with new neighbors are not easy. But gradually enmity gives way to friendship and games. However, the memories of the old life in the carpentry do not leave her. Speaking in the arena of the circus, Kashtanka again meets the carpenter and the boy. Will Kashtanka return to his home or prefer fame and fame to him?
