"Do you know that it will certainly end with something? Usually everything in the world ends in nothing, but here will be the end, surely, surely! " Stepan Verhovensky "Demons" by F. M. Dostoevsky
The theater hopes that by turning to F.M. Dostoevsky's outstanding warning novel, the director and artists will be able to speak out about our time and its acute problems, and create a breathtaking canvas about human passions. Director Alexei Slyusarchuk talks about the theme of the play as follows: “Something is happening. In life. In the novel. In the play. Gradually, a person is captured by an obscure dark feeling. Losing yourself? Loss of meaning? Loss of purpose? There is a God. He is light and eternity. There is a devil. He is darkness and loss. The demon portends the end, he is inside each of us, he is waiting in the wings. Everyone dies. Someone voluntarily, someone by chance, someone leaves this light, submitting to circumstances, and someone - not reconciled. A person is born by God's command, writes Dostoevsky, but leaves life in accordance with what he believes in. There will certainly be an end. Will you have enough strength to resist? Or need to be reconciled? How to accept the inevitable? Relying on your own feelings or trusting your neighbor? How to maintain dignity, how not to submit to fear? How not to live in fear? Is it possible? How to save your soul? And is there a soul? "
