“ For his trip to the theater with a 14-year-old son who grew up abroad and little familiar with classical Russian literature, the choice fell on the play "Woe from Wit" by chance. Firstly, it was interesting for me to see the production of Alexander Yatsko as a director, and secondly, to show my son the Russian classics as a dull, exciting theater action. We are both absolutely happy with this choice. This is an amazing performance - modern, relevant, sharp, dramatic, funny. The action captures from the first minute. Yatsko left the Griboedov text untouched and did not hang complicated interpretations. Just provoked the actors, among whom there are debutants, and masters with many years of experience, like the beautiful Irina Kartasheva - Khryumina, try the whole story on themselves. That is why the performance turned out to be lively and absolutely modern, without losing its psychological fullness. Huge gratitude and the highest score to the director and the whole cast of actors! Griboyedov-writer and composer! Bravo!!!

Alexander Griboyedov Premiere! Debut production on the Moscow stage of the leading actor Alexander Yatsko, who has behind him the director's experience. The play gives a "fresh" look at the work familiar from the school bench, while remaining faithful to the spirit of the great comedy. Alexander Yatsko is convinced that "Woe from Wit" is the best play ever written in Russian. He made contemporary characters the living modern people, whose thoughts and actions are close and understandable to those sitting in the hall. The chamber atmosphere of the "Under the Roof" scene allows a detailed and new look at the faces of Griboedov's characters, to understand the logic and motives of their behavior, and the stylish lapidary scenography, authored by the director of the play himself, gives the comedy the exquisite beauty. Alexander Yatsko did not make a single note in the text of the play, enriching the performance of his production with two waltzes Griboyedov in the "live" performance of the actors participating in the play. A special atmosphere of action is given by the virtuosic improvisations of the pianist Yevgeny Borts, sounded in the recording.
