In 1983, the series began showing on Greek television
"Sad melody of dawn" ("Το μινόρε της αυγής"), dedicated to history
the life of a rembetiko performer. They say that the streets these evenings
emptied, because rembetiko for the Greeks is more than an urban
song. This is a Greek myth of the twentieth century.
People's Artist of Russia Oleg Pogudin presents a program in
which will sound the most famous and already classic songs
of this genre.
Listen to them. They are sad and funny, naive, but also
sly, sometimes rude, but also sublime. They have
sun, sea, Bosphorus, love, homesickness, poverty,
loneliness and hope that we will be in time for the last
tram.
And the most famous of them is called very simply: Σ 'αγαπώ - I
love you.
And the words are very simple - I love you because you are beautiful, I
I love the whole world because you live in it.
Αγαπώ
αγαπώ κι όλο τον κόσμος
γιατί ζεις κι εσύ μαζί ...
Greek κόσμος translates as peace ... but also as space, that
the very one in which the earth sleeps in blue radiance ...
