The performance is based on the results of the MTK.NEXT Laboratory, during which young theater artists worked on independent sketches.
His name is Barnaba, but relatives call him the Egghead. He is 22 years old, but he behaves like a three-year-old child. The clever man knows that he is “i-di-o”, therefore he constantly talks to the toy Monsieur Crocolol.
In this story, the theater is primarily interested in how a child’s direct view of a person at the world affects its environment. Conditional dolls and equally conditional chalk drawings make these transformations visible. Our performance sometimes reminds of short films by Zbigniew Rybczynski, including a dense soundtrack.
Puppet theaters rarely talk to teenagers and young people on topical issues, the “Smart Book” of the Moscow Puppet Theater continues the conversation begun in the play “Floury Babies”.
