Literary Theater "Academy of Words" presents a literary and musical concert program from the cycle "Classics for 5" by A.S. Pushkin - S.V. Rachmaninoff "The Gypsies".
"Gypsies" - the last southern romantic poem of Pushkin. After spending several days in the camp of Bessarabian Gypsies, Alexander Sergeevich worked on the poem from January to October 1824, first in Odessa, then in Mikhailovsky. On the plot "Gypsy" Sergei Vasilievich Rachmaninov wrote in 1892 his first opera Aleko. The program of literary theater is a symbiosis of poem and opera music.
