Natalya Kovaleva: “Nothing can stop music. A person can, but there is no music, ”says one of the characters in the play. Who is the composer Oskar Strok? One has only to sing: "Ah, those black eyes", "Sleep my poor heart", "Don't leave, I beg you" ... And the famous "Murka"!
Oscar Strok composed melodies full of love, tenderness and passion. His songs were sung by Pyotr Leshchenko, Sokolsky, Plevitskaya, Chaliapin, Shulzhenko, Utesov. In Europe he was called the King of Tango. "
In the USSR, Strok's music was banned as ideologically alien - "an example of decadent bourgeois art." But people still knew and loved his ardent foxtrots, sentimental waltzes, hot tango rhythms, although they did not even suspect who composed them. The human heart needs great feelings. Oscar Strok had them, and he knew how to generously share them with people.
This performance is about each of us - about our childhood, our love, betrayal, about our fears, falls and ups - about everything that includes human life.
To the live music of the orchestra, the actors sing, dance and live a complex and simple human life.
Natalya Kovaleva: “We would like to dedicate this performance to the memory of the composer Faustas Latenas. He began work on the play, his death stopped her ... But Faustas managed to share his thoughts and ideas. We will keep them in the play. And this will prove once again that "nothing can stop the music."
