"Jesus Christ Superstar"

Rock opera in English with live music

One of the greatest rock operas in the world repertoire, with success goes to the Stas Namin Theater for 10 years already. To date, this production is the closest in its sound to the author's version of "Jesus Christ Superstar", released on the disc in 1970.

A rock opera with Andrew Lloyd Webber's great music and Tim Rice's lyrics is performed in the original language, but thanks to the dramatic skill of the actors, language barriers do not arise in this play.

The director's interpretation of the play is created in accordance with the Christian traditions of the canonical plot. "Who are you? What did you sacrifice? Do you think that you are what they think you are? "

A wonderful rock opera about the tragic events of the last week of the earthly life of Jesus Christ, which became a symbol of good and justice.

We see a suffering person, not a powerful god. He is close and understandable to a modern man, especially a young man.

The story of love and loyalty, of jealousy and betrayal, of faith in miracle and loneliness.

The best songs of the brilliant opera entered the golden fund of rock music of the twentieth century. They are so different, but each one is better than the other!

The poetic words of the songs of Tim Rice, written in a simple modern language, correspond to the wonderful music of the composer Lloyd Webber.

The authors of the rock opera were called rebels. They after all have swung on an evangelical plot!

"Jesus Christ, who are you?" Asks Judah in the very first song.

One of the most famous and beloved is the lyric and soulful aria of Mary Magdalene "I do not know how to love him."

Even the closest apostles could not understand their teacher.

"One thing I do not understand, what was your calculation? How did you get lured into such a binder? Was it difficult to foresee in advance - why did you choose the century, the country and the people so strangely? "
