"Secret marriage" is the only opera performed by Domenico Cimarosa and the only opera in the history of the world theater, fully "encore" immediately after the premiere on February 7, 1792, at the Court Theater of Vienna. She liked Emperor Leopold II so much that he demanded to repeat it completely in his chambers right away, until the actors were defrocked. Composer Domenico Cimarosa, being one of the leading representatives of the opera buff, probably did not know better success in his eventful life (1749 - 1801), for which he wrote about 70 operas, a considerable number of cantatas, mass, oratorios and instrumental works, served At the best imperial houses of Europe and even for two years he held the position of composer at the court of Catherine the Great.

"Secret marriage" is a typical Italian comic opera. Bright scenic sketches are represented by a multitude of ensembles: tertsets, quartets and quintets, and in the unfolded finale, the entire cast of actors involved in this work takes part.
