It helps to show how a person who is in a “intoxicated” state cannot make decisions on his own, a “new comrade” acts for him, gradually destroying life, leading it to a logical outcome. The role of Kurt Cobain is performed by Bogdan Schukin - a young artist who has just graduated from the Schukin TI. The image of the frontman of the Nirvana group itself is very complex, filled with emotional experiences. Bogdan was able to show us the whole drama of the life of a great artist: his fears, habits, passion for music, disappointment. The role of Courtney Love is performed by Anastasia Sycheva. She supports Kurt in his frenzy and is desperate to “push” her group forward. She seemed to me a very sincere, confused girl with a difficult childhood. The scenery is interestingly solved. In the first action, we go to a disadvantaged area of the American town, and in the second - the main decoration is foam. At one point, she transforms into a child whom they are trying to take away, at another she demonstrates shattered hopes. It looks very impressive when artists wade through thick clubs of foam, throw it up, destroy it. The musical accompaniment of the performance is impeccable: the immortal songs of Nirvana help us better understand the feelings of the characters, their life. This is the second appeal of Yuri Grymov to this material. 15 years have passed since the staging of the first performance, during which time the director changed his style, his views, he went through a certain creative path. This is a completely new setting. In this performance, Yuri Grymov shows us the problems that are now relevant in society: drug addiction, family abuse and more, clearly demonstrating what such a addiction can lead to. Narcotic substances here are not just a faceless powder, they acquire a “face”. A character like “Drag” (Yuri Anpilogov) appears. It helps to show how a person who is in a “intoxicated” state cannot make decisions on his own, a “new comrade” acts for him, gradually destroying life, leading it to a logical outcome. The role of Kurt Cobain is performed by Bogdan Schukin - a young artist who has just graduated from the Schukin TI. The image of the frontman of the Nirvana group itself is very complex, filled with emotional experiences. Bogdan was able to show us the whole drama of the life of a great artist: his fears, habits, passion for music, disappointment. The role of Courtney Love is performed by Anastasia Sycheva. She supports Kurt in his frenzy and is desperate to “push” her group forward. She seemed to me a very sincere, confused girl with a difficult childhood. The scenery is interestingly solved. In the first action, we go to a disadvantaged area of the American town, and in the second - the main decoration is foam. At one point, she transforms into a child whom they are trying to take away, at another she demonstrates shattered hopes. It looks very impressive when artists wade through thick clubs of foam, throw it up, destroy it. The musical accompaniment of the performance is impeccable: the immortal songs of Nirvana help us better understand the feelings of the characters, their life. “ Since the time of the story "Childhood" in the 6th grade, Gorky for me was a boring and not at all catchy writer. But I went to the play "At the Bottom" with curiosity. I already knew that the director Y. Grymov knows how to stage classics in such a way that the boring becomes interesting, the philosophical becomes accessible, and the protracted becomes dynamic. Expectations came true 100%! The modern inhabitants of Rublevka speak in the language of Gorky, and you would never think that the play was written in 1902. Despite branded items and rich surroundings, people's problems have changed little. Someone is looking for love, who is the truth, someone is already holding the "bottom" with a stranglehold. The actors play great! Each has created a unique image. Vasilisa, Vaska Ashes, Actor seemed especially bright to me. I read reviews - many consider Luka in the play as a negative hero. And he seemed pretty to me. In a difficult situation, he is always there, finds encouraging words, calls on a person to be human. This is important! Music perfectly complements what is happening on stage. I liked the performance and will be understandable to high school students when studying the work. Theater "Modern", in my opinion, is doing a very important job - it reveals the world of classical literature for young people, and this is very valuable. And yes ... I have not read the play, but now I will probably read it ...

“ My new love is the "Modern" theater! I love it! I just liked EVERYTHING !!! The theater itself is very beautiful - leather sofas, many different unusual lamps, a shining star on the stairs and teddy bears for social distance in free seats, in the auditorium. I really liked the performance! It retains the language and style of the classics, and modern details, recognizable music make the plot of marriage relevant and understandable! Young people are so interesting and accessible! The costumes are unusual, the actors played cool especially Lolita Milyavskaya. In the final, she really touched me: she was left alone. There were many suitors, but nothing came of it. Everyone wanted to marry Agafya Tikhonovna. Whom the mother forced, whom the comrade brought, alone the whole house and the outbuilding assessed. Understandable, accessible, modern! Thanks to director Yuri Grymov for introducing us to the classics so easily! Very bright, smart, with a sense of humor production! “ The play "War and Peace" in the theater "Modern" left a rather controversial impression. Above all praise, the musical and visual-plastic components of the performance. More precisely, "performance" is too small a word for what we are immersed in. “Action” is perhaps a more accurate designation for what is happening in the building of the “Modern” theater for more than four hours (and not only on the stage). This action is tragic, and sometimes frankly nerves. The director took a step unusual for the drama director: he invited the Russian chorus named after Sveshnikov to participate, who actually played the role of the main character of the play. The Russian people became this hero, it was he on the stage from the first minutes to the end, it was the voices of the choristers and the mass actions in which they participate that create the nerve and intensity of the performance. Great music and brilliant vocals, excellent costumes (more than 400 are sewn together !!), strong lighting solutions - all this works for the general impression and keeps you in suspense during the performance. On the other hand, we are offered an interpretation of a great novel that someone will understand and accept, and someone (like me) will be surprised and say that “War and Peace” is about something else. In the center of the production is the spiritual path of Pierre Bezukhov. True, there is no time left to show reflections, searches, and reasoning. Thoughts and ideas are given by hint, symbol, cartoon, sometimes plastic part. The latter, by the way, is the most successful, the scene of Pierre's conversion to Freemasonry is brilliant. As a result, Pierre’s search is reduced to the path from foreign Freemasonry to the Orthodox “Russian spirit”. Well, that's the authors right.

And it’s even amazing how the original author’s text is harmonious and absolutely natural in relation to modern realities! From the first minutes it’s clear who is who. From the very first minutes, my heart breaks with sympathy and sympathy for everyone. I don’t even know if I ever had such a strong sympathy for each of the heroes of this play .. Why? Why did I just now want to hug everyone? Is it only because they are outwardly the same as me with these fashionable clothes and phones? The Russian people became this hero, it was he on the stage from the first minutes to the end, it was the voices of the choristers and the mass actions in which they participate that create the nerve and intensity of the performance. Great music and brilliant vocals, excellent costumes (more than 400 are sewn together !!), strong lighting solutions - all this works for the general impression and keeps you in suspense during the performance. On the other hand, we are offered an interpretation of a great novel that someone will understand and accept, and someone (like me) will be surprised and say that “War and Peace” is about something else. In the center of the production is the spiritual path of Pierre Bezukhov. True, there is no time left to show reflections, searches, and reasoning. Thoughts and ideas are given by hint, symbol, cartoon, sometimes plastic part. The latter, by the way, is the most successful, the scene of Pierre's conversion to Freemasonry is brilliant. As a result, Pierre’s search is reduced to the path from foreign Freemasonry to the Orthodox “Russian spirit”. Well, that's the authors right.
