A well-known story about the noble knight from La Mancha from the novel by Miguel Cervantes "Artful Hidalgo Don Quixote of La Mancha" to the music of Ludwig Minkus is embodied on the ballet stage by the artistic director of the theater People's Artist of the USSR Vyacheslav Gordeev.

Based on the plot of the novel by Cervantes and the scenarios of Petipa and Gorsky, Gordeev composed his own libretto. The plot will unfold in two acts and six scenes. A great connoisseur of classics, Vyacheslav Gordeev is a choreographer, he kept in the choreographic fabric of the play the golden pages of Petipa and Gorsky's works. At the same time he gave the play a new scenographic look. He will play with new colors, will be more dynamic and understandable on the plot. The main characters - Don Quixote and Sancho Panso are not just comedic-dramatic heroes - they have acquired dance parties. In the play, new characters will appear, for example, Alonso Kihano (the young Don Quixote), the nun Joanna, the niece of Don Quixote.
