Nonna Grishaeva in the nostalgic comedy "On high heels"
It would seem that so many adaptations and productions were based on "Eugene Onegin"! It is not often possible to see something original in a positive sense. But the director Natalya Semenova and the artists of the SAMi Theater managed to show the whole depth and ambiguity of the novel in poetry, thanks to the original video, the music of the famous orchestra of Alexei Aigi and, of course, the brilliant cast. Four star artists: Daniil Strakhov, Sergey Shnyrev, Sergey Chonishvili and Irina Pegova, created unique images of the main characters of the novel. Daniil Strakhov - Onegin, who begins his role, suddenly, by reading his own letter to Tatyana - a scene from the end of the novel ... And then for an hour and a half the viewer will watch how exactly the venomous and cold dandy reached such a recognition. Sergei Shnyrev appears before us in the classical image of Lensky - a simple-hearted romantic with a butterfly on his neck. He is so naively in love with Olga, so sincerely considers Onegin his friend, that it is painful to watch him, knowing what his end will be. Irina Pegova seems completely unlike Pushkin’s Tatyana in type, more likely Olga. But, when she begins to speak on behalf of her heroine, BELIEVE her. Here she is - a young girl who writes her first love letter, here is the unfortunate lover rejected by Onegin, here she is frightened by a nightmare about the murder of Lensky, and here she is an adult princess. The image of Tatiana, perhaps, receives the greatest development in the novel, she is the only one who changes dramatically, while remaining herself. And, of course, the main character is the Author, whom Sergey Chonishvili introduced to us. How much is Pushkin in him, and how much is Sergey? Echidna, harsh, mocking, but so loving his characters and text. He allows himself to treat him very freely, throwing out pieces, inserting his remarks, brief explanatory reports or indecent quatrains - he screams, almost whispers. Together with the magical music of the orchestra, it is the author who helps to immerse himself in the plot as much as possible. It is noteworthy that the text of the novel was read almost entirely (in an hour and a half!), But did not like that several important points were not mentioned. Firstly, a visit to Tatyana Onegin’s library when she begins to realize that it’s not at all as perfect as she imagined, and her love becomes less “fanatical”. Secondly, the fact that Olga, after the death of Lensky, quickly married a visiting officer. And, thirdly, Tatyana’s transformation from a modest district girl into a “legislator of the hall”. Of course, it’s not enough to fit everything, but it seems to me that the extra 10-15 minutes in this case would go to the logic of the performance only to the benefit. In general, I am delighted, the audience around me, even the teenagers, was also delighted, the artists were called for an encore twice and presented a lot of flowers :) I highly recommend everyone to go: you are unlikely to re-read the novel in adulthood, and here to listen in such a wonderful performance and discover its new facets - I recommend.
First about the name. The Russian War of Pectoralis, in my opinion, is about the simple in the complex, and about the complex in the simple. Me, this name, as they say today: "Catch on." The production was touched by the fact that the authors of the play, without "fermented patriotism", which Nikolai Semyonovich Leskov himself did not like, talk about the "mysterious Russian soul" and the nature of things in general. About why it’s good for us to eat pancakes in piles, and someone to choke on one. Avoiding everydayism in solving the whole performance helps not to run into the wings, after half an hour of viewing, but to see the horizon, inaccessible and immense. Avoiding caricaturism, although lubok and booth are appropriate here, this is a joke that helps, through irony, not only above the German, but also above oneself, to look into that mirror, which has nothing to blame, if that. You already feel it with your skin, and I went to the play in October, that the actors not only rubbed themselves in stylish costumes to each other, but also kept pace and rhythm. Feel like a partner, and live in a role. Still, namely, life and world perception of the performance are added to musical numbers, which the actors perform live. Well, since time went for life, then the scenery in the performance is lively and breathing. Finishing it, I think that the performance still has room to grow and develop. And, of course, I note the grandiose, modern, powerful "Oleg Tabakov Theater".
A very worthy performance of the play "My poor Marat." The actors managed to convey the emotionally difficult relationships of the heroes and their emotional experiences. This performance makes you think about the correctness of the decisions and actions of the heroes. Involuntarily you ask yourself the question "what would you do if you were in their place?" The play "My poor Marat" will definitely not leave anyone indifferent and will find its audience!

I love Pushkin! All his work takes place on the sharpest edge of genius and mischievous hooliganism, which is so difficult to repeat! And Onegin in MMDM from the community of SAMI - the same - brilliantly hooligan, poetically piercing, loving - irrevocably! So, I’ll try to convey how it was: Onegin - of course Daniil Strakhov, the fans began to die already in the lobby, from Pushkin’s anticipation alone - Sergey Chonishvili. It seems to me that any of his movements, even his eyes, and everyone in the audience is subdued by the talent of this brilliant actor, they begin to catch his every movement! Lensky - Sergey Shnyrev. The whole audience laughs when it comes to curls to the shoulders, which he doesn’t have at all (the actors don’t dress in elaborate costumes, there are no wigs, no makeup, no scenery). But the directorial and acting work creates a masterpiece - a striking hit of the image of Lensky! Irina Pegova - Tatyana (she is Olga - in the video, which is logical - all the same sisters), without which there is no major conflict in Onegin (second Onegin-Lensky) Music by Alexei Aigi and the Ensemble “4'33” ”- artists all time is on stage, this is a special highlight of the theater - as always exciting, brilliant! Sometimes I was torn where to look - at the actors, at the musicians or on the screen. The film shot for the performance deserves special praise - it’s cool done, mounted, and most importantly, meaningfully expressive, enriches the performance very much! Of course, “Onegin” in the presentation of Natalia Semenova (director and artistic director) is not a role reading from “My Uncle the Most Honest Rules ...” to the finale. Rather, an analysis of the characters, a conflict if you like, the Game begins with Onegin’s letter, ends with a sudden remark from Pushkin-Chonishvili and laughter in the hall. The stanzas go out of order, being entangled in a bizarre whirlwind with melodies, scenes on the screen, dialogs, clear water, meaningful and even musical hooliganism, psychiatrist comments and explanations from the author. It’s impossible to talk about the performance with a clear and prosaic text, this is the case when it’s better to see it once (now this opportunity will only be February 29, 2020, just don’t delay the purchase, there will be no places at the time of the performance)!
