One of them is the project “The Magic of Music, Magic of the Word” by the SAMI Theater: a bizarre fusion of music, light, poems of famous poets of the 20th century, and video effects. Suffice it to say that Daniil Strakhov, Sergey Chonishvili and Sergey Shnyrev acted as readers, and Alexey Aigi with his 4'33 '' ensemble and organist Konstantin Volostnov were in charge of musical accompaniment - this is the best guarantee of a high-class spectacle. For the concert (I will call the event a concert), poems were chosen by poets such as A. Blok, N. Gumilev, S. Cherny, I. Brodsky, and B. Kenzheeva, V. Gandelsman, B. Ryzhy and others who are little known to me. Strakhov, Chonishvili and Shnyrev go out one after another, follow each other ... It is noteworthy that the authorship of the poems is not indicated, and Daniel and Sergey read, including his own poems. Is the author really important? After all, the main thing is the idea and thought of the poet. And, of course, it is impossible not to say about MUSIC. Aleksey Aigi and his ensemble, as always, is at its height — sometimes slow and painful, sometimes expressive, but always expressive — the music draws words into the maelstrom and helps create a truly magical atmosphere. The musical and dramatic project “The Magic of Music, the Magic of Words” by the SAM Theater is one of those few performances that do not let go for a long time, they are easily remembered and you want to watch them again and again, each time discovering something new, missed or not understood before, with this performance I want to share, bringing to him close friends. And it is not by chance that the word “magic” twice sounds in the title of the performance, this word, together with its synonyms magic, sorcery, fortunetelling, enchantment, witchcraft - absolutely exactly expresses what is happening on the stage. It would seem that something like this can be done by three readers, a small orchestra and an organ, but when great poetry is performed by talented actors, and musicians enchant and take listeners to magical worlds, then what can be called magic happens. Sergey Chonishvili, Daniil Strakhov and Sergey Shnyrev performed by the great Russian poetry of the twentieth century. There are many poems: Brodsky, Mandelstam, Auburn, Pasternak, Gumilyov, Blok, Samoilov, Kushner ... Each of the actors has his own theme, his own choice of works, his attitude to poetry and to life. But during the performance there is something else to see - the action is accompanied by a witch’s visual sequence, somewhere accompanying the action, and somewhere going beyond the limit of reality. And all this wealth was collected, invented and staged by the director Natalya Semenova - there are women in Russian villages! It is a pity that the performance “The Magic of Music, the Magic of Words” of the SAM Theater is shown only twice a year, I could watch it every month.

Those closest to me were those that Sergei Chonishvili was reading. In general, it seemed that he himself caught the buzz from what was happening, and even when the other performers performed. The organ sounded differently for me as soon as I surrendered to this fabulous stream. In the Great Hall of the Conservatory there are excellent acoustics, it seems that music does not sound from the stage, but around and inside you. In general, I really enjoyed this hike.

There are four actors in quite modern clothes who stand on the stage more than they sit and sit, more than they walk. And the text, the same Pushkin, familiar to the last comma. It would seem that. But no! The text (both Pushkin and the Author) is played with the viewer: they sometimes beckon the familiar “My uncle of the most honest rules ...”, then they confuse, starting from the end, mixing scenes and events, then they make me feel lost in the maze of phrases ( ? Or Pushkin, but I do not remember? Or not "EO"? And who said that ?!). And what a face! What voices! These people do not need costumes and makeup, they know a different secret of reincarnation. Irina Pegova, Sergey Chonishvili, Daniil Strakhov and Sergey Shnyrev exist in the “gave a free novel” and in our reality. The play takes only an hour and a half, but during this time, the characters of “Eugene Onegin” become closer and clearer to us - they begin to be perceived as our contemporaries, almost like close friends. And indeed for almost two centuries that have passed since the day of the novel's release, people didn’t change much - love, death, loyalty and betrayal worry us just as much as people of the eighteenth century.The fantasy of the director, the skills of the actors, the talent of musicians makes this performance absolutely wonderful and unforgettable.

That such an impression on me was made by the play “Onegin” from the creative association “SAMI Theater”. Director Natalia Semenova, a great clever. What is in this performance? Magic and magic. The well-known texts of Pushkin and the unknowns of Nepushkin, the music of talented Alexei Aigi and his ensemble 4'33, the velvety voice of Sergey Chonishvili, the Onegin-Lensky opposition, played by Daniel Strakhov — Sergei Shnyrev, the girlish intonations in Irina Pagovoy’s voice. Behind the actors is a screen on which a video series specially created for the play is being projected. Aigi turns around in his chair with his back to the viewer and follows the image. Time! But Daniel Strakhov for all is just the perfect Onegin. But Strakhov disappointed me ... I can not say that it was his fault or the director, but the image of his constrained, without emotional Onegin (even already in love with Tatiana) was so unconvincing !!! I love this actor, I saw his theatrical works (for me he is the best Dorian Gray), but here something, from my point of view, did not work out .... Sergey Shnyrev was just beautiful (with what kind of irony he played the role of an enthusiastic poet Vl. Lensky !!!), but he was offended enough - he was killed in a duel ... I liked Irina Pegova very much, who presented herself in two images of her heroine - a village girl who read French novels and secular ladies. For me, in spite of all the passions, he was always something monumental, thorough, unhurried, like long winter evenings by the fireplace. And then suddenly they took and cut off most of the novel, leaving the very thing. A pair of Onegin’s dialogues with Lensky, a pair of Onegin’s monologues, a bit of Lensky, conversations with the author, who as if he hadn’t decided yet whether he would leave the novel or change something, creating the feeling that the novel is happening right here and now. And, of course, two famous monologues of Tatiana! Without them in any way. Not at all. So here. Surprisingly, in this condensed version of the novel fit almost entirely. On the contrary, such a concentration even more clearly highlighted each of the characters. The viewer was not distracted by the contemplation of nature, by philosophical reflections. The spectator intently caught every gesture, every sound, every word! Oh, what a word it was! The power of Pushkin's talent covered the head! Bliss! What a bliss it is to hear Pushkin when he is read so talented and with such love! And it is immediately clear why there are neither scenery, nor “epoch-appropriate” costumes in this performance. All this is superfluous! Superfluous, when there is the main thing: the genius of Pushkin and the talent of actors. All household details and archaisms are discarded, left timeless and relevant. The second - the novel is not about what you thought about years ago, when you last read it entirely. And what is the reason - the stage interpretation or personal changes over the past years - I will not judge. Most likely, both. Suddenly, I realized that Onegin was a novel about the horror of idle life, without meaning, without purpose, without work. About how such idleness and laziness of the soul turns into tragedy and death. And the main line was Lensky, not Tatiana. There are four actors and eight musicians on stage. Pushkin - Sergey Chonishvili - wearily cynical. This is of course not Pushkin, but an appropriate and convincingly presented his hypostasis. Lensky - Sergey Shnyrev. In some places it is a young enthusiastic poet with the intonations of the early Yevtushenko, in places - a middle-aged actor, enthusiastically telling about his hero. Tatyana - Irina Pegova. Almost not at all Tatiana, often an actress telling about Tatiana. It is like. Onegin - Daniel Strakhov. The image was not understood, perhaps because Pushkin Onegin turned out to be very unexpected. The stage composition is for me five plus, although someone may be distorted by insertions (I think 10-20% of the text on the stage). The inserts seemed to me not only appropriate, but also contributing to the element of surprise: it is a pity that the sources of the inserts have remained unidentified. Not only Shakespeare sounds from the stage, but also Joseph Brodsky, David Samoilov, Arseny Tarkovsky, Bakhyt Kenzheev, Boris Red, Dmitry Prigov, Sergey Chonishvili .. Wherever and in what place people live, they are tormented by similar experiences, thoughts, emotions. That is why Shakespeare's play does not lose its relevance. That is why it is brilliant, because it is timeless. And the poems of modern poets for a reason are incredibly consonant with Shakespeare. "We are all in the same boat." And yes, with every minute of the performance, you become more and more convinced that they are modern Hamlets. And they not only exist, but live among us. Businessmen, showmen or even security officers. Every day one can, voluntarily or involuntarily, end up in a very similar life situation, facing the same problem of choice as the Shakespearean hero. Everyone can one day (or more often) ask themselves the question: to be or not to be? And each sets it in its own way. With its intonation, its meaning, its internal settings. And the actors ... How do they play! However, do they play? After all, to play the role of Hamlet is like the enduring dream of every actor. So you just look at their faces, listen to the voices, and it seems that you even dance and throw chairs. And after them, too, as if trying on the "skin" of Hamlet. And music ... Music, it seems to be pulling you to the surface, giving you the opportunity to catch your breath, switch, but in fact only throws up on a new round of this emotional spiral. Spirals, moving along which you are resonating more and more with what is happening on stage. And it even seems that you are no longer you, but just a part of the scenery of this ingenious story of Hamlet. The Moscow International House of Music is a completely magical place: an airy, as if floating in the air, a building and, I think, it is very suitable for the action that awaited the audience on one of Moscow evenings. It is very difficult to call one word with what the audience saw. Hamlet Story is a state, I would even say, a mood of soul and body and the most correct thing is to surrender to the elements of incredible music, poetic lines and the endless charm of Hamlets. "To be or not to be? That is the question!" It seems that this phrase is erased to the holes, battered by time, and indeed was there any real Hamlet. But what to do: it is important after all now! And everyone asks himself this question, maybe not in such a categorical and literary form, but still ... And having received the answer, you can even reach the cozy chamber number 6. .... There are four Hamlets on stage: three actors and a musician. So different and not similar, but between them there is some invisible connection in the movement of the hand, in the turn of the head, in a friendly look. Sergey Chonishvili. His baritone is able to enter into a trance and drive the viewers crazy in the radius of hearing. The sonic weapon with a huge destructive ability))) The spectators saw him in a performance in different images: either “the Bible does not help with depression”, it “lights” on stage to the beat of music, it shouts verse lines into the hall and deservedly ” rips "screams" Bravo! ". BRAVO! Alexey Kravchenko. There was genuine interest and anticipation: how will it be? After all, Alexey is familiar to most viewers in a certain way, badly, it seems to me, combined with poetry, prose and music. And it turned out interesting! A kind of mountain man, whose jacket is experiencing from the pumped up biceps, reads touching poems about childhood, tenderness and love)) Bravo! Sergey Shnyrev. Tightened and elegant, "like a dandy in London," ironic and sometimes hooligan. A darling of all ages and my own board for all men. His wonderful voice, reading the magic lines, could be listened to for a long time and with pleasure. BRAVO! Alexey Aigi. His violin solo part always evoked constant excitement among the audience; crazy drive and positive energy. The music of Alexei Aigi performed by his ensemble "4'33" is not an addition to what is happening on the stage and not filling the pauses between the verse lines, but an important part of the action is mood, passion, and elements. Solo on the violin and solo on the trombone (I couldn’t even imagine that you can master this instrument so masterly!) - above all praise !! BRAVO! In my humble opinion, "Hamlet STORY" is the case when it’s better to see once than to hear a hundred times. You can write a lot of things about the magic of symbiosis of music, poetry and prose; about the incredible atmosphere in which you immerse for 1 hour and 40 minutes and from which you don’t feel like getting out at the end; about the great charisma of actors and musicians who gave such joy to the viewer; BUT it is better to see-dive-get it all in person)))) Come!

I really like poetic evenings, I listen with great pleasure to both Pushkin and Brodsky, and modern poets. But the concert “The Magic of Music, the Magic of the Word” exceeded all my expectations. There were many poems that I either did not hear, or very rarely come across the Internet. I was amazed by the team of Alexey Aigi - the ensemble “4:33”, especially the solo parts of the cello and trumpet. I have never seen such an emotional game on the Conservatory scene. The final of the first part of the concert just won. I am very sorry that I did not buy the program, I can not imagine how to find what they were playing. The music was an excellent accompaniment to the verses sounding from the stage - both what was played in separate pieces and what sounded like a photon to the verses. The organ followed by Konstantin Volostnov sounded great too. Poems sounded from the scene different - from the lyrics to the passion. The actors are different in character - open and cheerful Yevgeny Strakhov, caustic and caustic Sergey Chonishvili and severe and strict Sergey Shnyrev. Yevgeny Strakhov performed poems by Boris Ryzhy, Alexander Kushner, Gennady Shpalikov. Very soft verses were chosen for the program. Sergey Shnyrev read poems of Joseph Brodsky, Bakhyt Kenzheev, Vladimir Gandelsman. The familiar lines of Brodsky sounded new. The brightest impression of the evening is the voice of Sergey Chonishvili, his manner of reading. And his dancers on the musical inserts - it was so soulful. The lines of Gumilyov, Blok, Mandelstam, Pasternak, Brodsky, Samoilov, Kushner, Ryzhy, Prigov and others. But they are pronounced as if each of them is the author. Sincerely, sincerely, carefully. Thus, only people who know their price very well can relate to words. And yes. This word! It `s Magic! The magic of the living word! And this effect is easy to explain, because in this unusual project, each of the actors chooses what he will read. The most resonant, close and aching. First of all, I would like to thank the creators of this event by name: Director: Natalia Semenova Masters words: Sergey Chonishvili Daniil Strakhov Sergey Shnyrev Music Masters: Alexey Aigi and group 4.33 (these guys are gods!) Konstantin Volostnov, who created a fantastic atmosphere playing the organ. These people managed to create something unique and truly magical, combining into one whole the music of the highest level and energy, the works of poets of the 20th century performed by great professionals and artistic and light installations. Music is beyond praise, captures and entails from the first moments. It disturbs, hurts, stirs, heals ... The intensity of emotions in the hall is mad. Looking at Alexei Aigi is a separate pleasure, and his group breathes with one breath, lives on the stage as a single organism! Subtle strokes, wide strokes create the image of the actors of the past century, which is woven from destinies and poems. And their voices! Sometimes I caught myself being fascinated by the fact that the music of the voice is no less than the music of Aigi. The timbre of Daniil Strakhov's bitter chocolate, the wise winter wind in Sergey Chonishvili's voice ... The first act as if by a razor blade, at the limit. Answers to questions give rise to new questions. Existential loneliness, the search for self, god, country, love ... Feeling of understatement and impending drama. The second part is about love. She was going to go to the Kremlin for a concert on her mother’s day with a friend, but decided to stay a good mother and go with her 16-year-old son to Onegin. I never regretted it! Modern, unusual, beautiful play of actors, fascinating live music. Not reading a son instead of the usual "norms" convincingly said "I liked it!" Even recognized himself in Onegin.
