Review

The next premiere of the jubilee season is the children's story of the fox and chicken, famous for its charm, whose sincere desire for seemingly impossible friendship overcomes all obstacles: mistrust of parents, recognized by all fears and contrived prohibitions. This is a kind of "Romeo and Juliet" for kids, but only with a happy ending. The musical short story is based on Jan Olof Ekholm's well-known short story, which nevertheless raises the most pressing problems of human and family relationships, teaches adults to listen to the smallest ones, understand them and not try to break them in favor of established stereotypes.

In the forest there is a family of foxes of Larsson: father, mother and fourteen foxes. Thirteen elders, as expected, go to school - to the fox school, where they are taught the science of cunning and the ability to live at the expense of others, and the younger, Ludwig, while just running through the forest and making friends with bunnies, then with squirrels, then with a hedgehog . But then a strange story happens: Ludwig does not want to deceive anyone. His parents are frightened. They think that Ludwig's friendship with bunnies and other forest animals is to blame for everything. They forbid Ludwig to play with his friends and ask his older brother, Laban, to teach Ludwig the fox's way of life: to deceive others in order to be himself. But Ludwig does not like these lessons. With cunning he departs from Laban and, incidentally, walks to the people's house in his solitary walks through the forest. A series of breathtaking adventures awaits him on the farm - he gets into the chicken coop, hides from the dog Maximilian in his own booth, learns not to be afraid of the scarecrow and ... meets the chicken Tutta, whose friendship will change not only his life, but the way of both families, fox and chicken : Hens will save from the fate of being eaten by foxes, and foxes - from the fate of being caught by hunters.

This tale is a modern Swedish writer Jan Olof Ekholm wrote in 1965, and since then there is no country where it is not published. It is read in English and French, Italian and German, in Norwegian and Czech and, of course, in Russian. After all, it was in Russia that this story was not only reissued several times, but two cartoons were removed ("How the foxes with chickens became friends" and "Little Redhead") and even a real feature film called "Red, Honest, Lover". And it is in Russian that the musical fairy tale of Vadim Ryvkin "The Adventures of Ludwig and Tutta" is being performed, which is today at the Natalia Sats Theater.
