On the festive evening, a duet of famous Russian musicians Alexey Kruglov and Igor Goldenberg presents a program that combines organ and saxophone, classical and jazz. The unique organ of the cathedral will feature masterpieces of organ music, the famous compositions of Bach will appear in an unexpected sound in a duet of organ and saxophone and will even become a theme for jazz improvisations.

Younger contemporaries often called Johann Sebastian Bach old-fashioned. They were unaware that their names would soon be forgotten, and old Bach would become one of the most modern and popular composers. How many times his compositions were “replayed” by jazz musicians - it is impossible to count. Bach's music - from the “school” two-part inventions to choral preludes, cantatas and the famous Toccata and Fugues in D minor - will sound in a duet of organ and saxophone and will be the theme for a variety of jazz improvisations: from pleasant swing and soft jazz to unexpected free jazz.

The program of the gala concert will not do without the classical organ repertoire - the famous organ concert of solo, which Bach wrote for his favorite instrument based on the Vivaldi violin concerto, as well as the most favorite organ choral preludes, will sound. But perhaps the biggest surprise will be jazz improvisation on the themes of the famous Toccata and fugues in D minor.

At the concert, the presentation of the album “Baroque Art. Contemporary Harmony ”with Bach's music and original improvisations, which is released on Fancymusic. The musicians will perform most of the plays of the album.

Alexey Kruglov is a saxophonist, composer, poet, leader of the Round Bend group, one of the brightest representatives of improvisation in Russia. Cooperates with musicians from different directions, from classical to avant-garde. He plays in the performances of D. Krymov, B. Yukhananova, works in the Mayakovsky Theater, collaborates with the actors of the Taganka Theater. He performed with the legendary poet A. Voznesensky, choreographer V. Vasilyev, actors E. Vitorgan, V. Talyzina and others. He played with American jazz stars J. Hitt, K. McBright, G. Barths, J. Lovano, Brazz Brothers and many others . The actor of prestigious labels ACT Music, Leo Records, etc., has recorded about 40 albums. The participant of numerous festivals of jazz, academic and experimental music, various art forums. Albums of A. Kruglov were in the Top-10 according to the Europe Jazz Media Chart. In 2011, he was recognized as the “Discovery of the Year” in Jazzthetik polls, and the British Jazz Wise called the musician “the future of jazz”.

Igor Goldenberg (organ) - a graduate of the Moscow Conservatory in composition, piano and organ classes. Member of the Union of Composers of Russia, founder of the ensemble "Sebastien", which pays special attention to ancient music. Trained at leading foreign professors, among them M. Hazelböck (Austria), J. Guillau (France), P. Kee (Holland), E. Koyman (Holland), C. Wolf (Germany), L. Lohmann (Germany), J. Trummer (Austria), K. Coito (Switzerland). He graduated from the High School of Music in Lausanne with diplomas "Master - Concert Performer" and "Master - Soloist". He took part in numerous concerts and festivals in Russia and abroad. As an organist, he worked with such conductors as V. Fedoseev, M. Pletnev, S. Sondetskis.
