Terry Johnson Based on the play "Insignificance". Russian text by Yuri Anikeev
“Night at the Hotel” is the first production of Vladimir Mashkov in the status of the artistic director of the Theater Oleg Tabakov.
Imagine that in 1953, in the room of a New York hotel, the world famous Actress, Athlete, Senator and Scientist met quite by accident. The prototypes of these characters are immediately understandable, although they are not named by the author. The whole play we have to stand on the verge of trust in what is happening. The probability of this meeting tends to zero, but there were reasons for it and there are rumors about it. If the meeting took place - what would these people who owned the imagination, minds and lives of millions talk about? Johnson’s play remains relevant as long as sex, mind, strength and power continue to be relevant. But these four have their own story unfolding against the backdrop of their global fame and influence. It seems insignificant, but now we know that everything in the world is relative ... Terry Johnson is a famous British playwright, screenwriter and director, and has repeatedly won the most prestigious theater awards: Tony, Lawrence Olivier, Evening Standard Theater Awards, Screenwriters Guilds, Time Out Best Play Award and many others.
