The main director of the Moscow Youth Theater Vyacheslav Spesivtsev made a performance about the fact that a man is still "sounding proud". This is one of the most romantic productions of M. Gorky. Man remains a man, no matter what inhuman conditions he may find himself. In the play there is no infamous "chernukha". Here they laugh a lot, play the balalaika, the people are beautiful and young. All life is deliberately excluded by the director, since Gorky's "bottom" is not a household concept, but a spiritual one. And in this, perhaps, is the modernity of Spesivtsev's play.
