Story

The idea of the ballet based on the fairy tale by Charles Perrault "Beauty of the Sleeping Forest" (1697) belonged to Prince Vsevolozhsky. He decided to recreate the French court ballet performance of the 17th-18th centuries. The first posters of the performance defined the genre of the show as an extravaganza ballet. The plot of the ballet, like the original director Marius Petipa, is from France. But for more than a hundred years of stage life, The Sleeping Beauty has repeatedly changed its appearance at the behest of the choreographers' light hand.

The famous ballet The Sleeping Beauty is unique in its ability to resurrect the golden age of the reign of Louis XIV. This is a masterpiece of classics, which first struck the minds and hearts in 1890, and to this day continues to unceasingly delight even the most sophisticated modern viewer.
