Jazz Games
Concert programs "Jazz Games" - Daniel Kramer's calling card. He has been successfully conducting them for several years at various venues in the capital, inviting colleagues in the jazz workshop to play music together. “Jazz Games is my label,” explains the artist. - This name was born for a long time and was born for a reason. I’m not a jazzman, but a person from different worlds - I play classical music, jazz, rock, funk, a little blues, all this cannot be called pure jazz. I just treat it like music. But the label “musician” does not exist in nature, and the audience will certainly evaluate everyone, sort and put them in boxes. My box is ambiguous, I do everything that I can, and I try to do it so that jazz is not just an entertainment art, but becomes deeper. On the other hand, jazz, in comparison with the classics (with its centuries-old history), is still young, this art is a little childish, it has yet to grow up. So I play it in a sense, however, I play it very seriously, while trying to present jazz at some other level - I play jazz as a serious academician sees it, on the one hand, I play like a jazzman and as a musician, inclined to the synthesis of genres and styles - on the other ”.
The concert program will be born in a jazz key - like improvisation. “I like to play old melodies, showing them from a different, unusual position,” continues Daniil Kramer. - So, once in Israel I played the famous composition Whisper Not by Benny Golson in the presence of the author and presented it in Bach's presentation, in three-part form with a reprise. After the concert, Golson came up to me and, without saying a word, smacked me. You can play jazz deeply, seriously, and even tragically. Often in jazz, seriousness is replaced by conceptuality, but conceptually, this is not always deep. "
