Forty years ago a band appeared that created a real sensation in the music world. “Moscow Virtuosi” - so brilliant violinist Vladimir Spivakov called the orchestra he founded, which united the best musicians of the Russian capital. The young collective immediately attracted listeners' unprecedented interest in chamber music: the musicians literally “shook off the dust of centuries” from the masterpieces of great composers, and the public who had not previously been interested in classics and considered it boring, flowed into concert halls.
Instantly establish contact with the audience and lead the listeners to the infinite world of beauty and harmony, the “Virtuosos” have been working all these years. Because of this, this museum classic “for a narrow circle of lovers” has become a living and understandable music for many - and this is what true art should be like!
For more than 10 years each year on the eve of the Catholic Christmas “Moscow Virtuosos” and Vladimir Spivakov go on the stage of the Svetlanov Hall of the House of Music and invariably pre-offer their fans something unexpected and extraordinary. The date and place of the concert is probably the only constant: the programs of performances are never repeated, and the details are kept secret until the very day of the concert.
A special gift to music fans will certainly be participation in the Christmas concerts of first-class soloists. This time among them is Fazyl Sai, the world famous pianist and composer, each Russian concert of which becomes an event of the season. According to critics, “listening to Sai in the recording is a great pleasure, but only the“ live ”performance has a very special magic, the feeling that music is born here and now.” In the second part of the concert, together with the “Virtuosos”, the invited co-list of the Bolshoi Theater Nadezhda Gulitskaya will perform.
