Can only dream of" (National Public Radio), American organist Adam Breukel will present at the House of Music a program spanning four centuries of music. Possessing a huge repertoire, he has already covered the map of the whole world with the routes of his touring performances, conquering the audience of North and South America, Europe and Asia. His repertoire includes a wide range of styles, from organ masterpieces by I.S. Bach, D. Buxtehude, F. Couperin, V.A. Mozart, F. Liszt, F. Mendelssohn, S. Frank and M. Durufle to the transcendental studies of the famous French organist and composer of the 20th century J. Demesier and jazz music for organ.
Graduate of the Peabody Conservatory, Catholic University of the Holy Spirit. Dukein, the Juilliard School in New York, Adam Breykel received top prizes in several international competitions (named after Albert Schweitzer and others). He worked as an organist at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Cathedral in Pittsburgh, at the Church of St. Ignatius of Loyola on Park Avenue in New York, at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Washington. Nowadays, Adam Breukel combines his active concert activity with the position of music director of the Diocese of Orlando and St. James Cathedral in Orlando (Florida).
In the program of his Moscow concert, the American organist included works by German and French composers of the Baroque era, including the famous Bach's Passacaglia and the fugue in C minor. In the second part, along with colorful compositions by contemporary French authors, the grandiose Fantasy and Fugue on the BACH theme by Max Reger will be performed.
