The program of the festive concert on the eve of Christmas and New Year of the chamber orchestra “Moscow Virtuosi”, according to the artists, turned out to be very diverse: “We want to give our listeners a holiday, therefore we have included in the concert joyful and even humorous music, and at the same time give the opportunity to tune in the right mood before Christmas, so it was not without Bach and Grieg. At the same time, the program will reflect the national flavor of Russia and European countries, because Tchaikovsky, Suppe, Grieg and Dvorak are composers in whose works their native culture is so strong, ”says Alexei Lundin, concertmaster and first violinist of the Moscow Virtuosi orchestra.
Conductor Alexander Soloviev is at the orchestra's console that evening. He has collaborated with prominent Russian and foreign conductors, including Arnold Katz, Vladimir Fedoseev, Saulius Sondeckis, Vladimir Spivakov, Mikhail Pletnev, Vasily Sinaisky, Marcello Viotti, Fabio Luisi, Enrique Mazzola, Patrick Summers and others. As a second conductor he took part in recordings for Deutsche Grammophone and Naxos. Since the 2017/2018 season, Alexander Soloviev has been the director of the conductor-trainee group of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia under the baton of Vladimir Spivakov.
The Moscow Virtuosi is the only Russian orchestra to have recordings under the famous BMG Classics and RCA Red Seal labels. The collective has released discs not only with works of the classical repertoire, but also with works by contemporary composers.
