The Moscow New Drama Theater continues to work on a large-scale project that includes four main plays by A. Chekhov - “The Seagull”, “Uncle Vanya”, “The Three Sisters” and “The Cherry Orchard”.
The monologue of the World Soul from the first and, alas, the last play by Konstantin Treplev "People, lions, eagles and partridges, horned deer ..." turned out to be visionary. And not only for the further development of theatrical art. "... no scenery ...", says Konstantin in Chekhov's play "The Seagull", and the first performer in the Art Theater as Treplev, Vsevolod Meyerhold, in a few years will implement Kostya's aesthetic credo - create the theater, removing the backdrop, backstage and inviolable several centuries of curtain. And another stage reformer, the brilliant director Peter Brooke, will not forget the plan of the young Chekhov avant-gardist, who planned to make a real landscape with a rising moon. His performance "Mahabharata" Brooke carried out against the background of a real sand pit, using the sunset of the sun.
But Providence Trepleva goes beyond the boundaries of theatrical searches. "People, lions, eagles and partridges ... in a word, all lives, all lives, all lives, having accomplished a sad circle, PLEASE ... The bodies of living beings DIED ..." The only thing that Kostya Treplev could not have supposed was that this process will not last two hundred thousand years. Before our eyes, many species of animals disappear, and even humans, as a species, scientists say, will soon cease to be Homo Sapiens.
The process has already begun ... The whole layers of human life are leaving, types, characters, traditions and foundations disappear. What else can still be kept in this rapid disappearance of human? Lions, eagles, partridges and horned deer disappear ... And people? Are they still there, only people?
More than a hundred years ago, Chekhov peered at the leaving nature. We look and we.
“When I woke up, got up and washed, it suddenly seemed to me that everything is clear to me in this world, and I know how to live.”
“Imagine, I'm already starting to forget her face. So we will not be remembered. Forget "
"We now can not quite know what, in fact, will be considered high, important and that pathetic, ridiculous."
"... I rush from side to side, like a fox hunted by dogs, I see that life and science all go on and on, and I am all behind and behind ..."
"... For such happiness as being a writer or an actress, I would endure the dislike of loved ones, need, disappointment ... I would eat only rye bread, suffer from dissatisfaction with myself, from the consciousness of my imperfections ..."
"Horse is a good beast ... Horse can be sold ..."
"Nietzsche ... a philosopher ... a man of enormous intelligence, said in his writings that it was possible to make fake papers ..."
"It is somehow strange ... they knew each other and suddenly for some reason ... never see you again ..."
