This is not even a performance, but rather a "musical installation" - the authors of the production defined its genre as a "concert-fantasy".
The play is based on 16 songs by Schumann and Schubert. The performance has a single, indissoluble fabric, the action is so finely tuned that the transitions from one song to another are simply not noticeable. Masterfully done arrangement does not detract from the merits of the original works, although it is far from classical. Arrangers Z.A. Russia Oleg Sinkin and Alexander Marchenko made a jazz paraphrase of the famous works of Schumann and Schubert. As a result, a very original and self-sufficient version turned out. Such an exquisite, aesthetic direction in Moscow can not be seen anywhere else. Directing Popovski is a theater of European thinking, an ideal syncretistic theater in which all elements are interconnected and poured into each other. Words echo music, music - words, plastic - light, light - again to music and so on ad infinitum. In July 2003, the play was presented at the festival "Ohrid summer" in the Republic of Macedonia, where he won the Grand Prix.
"... Sometimes it looks so surprising in the poet's heart - the screaming dissonances formed by life softens the conciliating art, although often it again envelops joy with a dark, long veil so that it is not seen so open ..." (from R. Schumann's letters).
The performance is the laureate of the II National Festival "Musical Heart of the Theater" in the nominations: "Best orchestration (arrangement)" and "Best lighting design".
