A. Vivaldi. The Seasons, a cycle of concerts for violin and strings
A. Piazzolla. “Four Seasons in Buenos Aires” (arranged for violin and strings)
Magical music filled with lively feelings and sparkling with bright colors that are in tune with the New Year's mood and romantic evening - such a program the Hermitage ensemble on New Year's Eve offers to the attention of the audience of the House of Music.
In the first part, Antonio Vivaldi’s The Seasons will be heard - perhaps the most famous work of Italian Baroque and an undisputed masterpiece for all times. Paying tribute to the tradition of baroque artistic thinking, the composer prefaced each of the concerts (consisting of three parts according to three months of the year) sonnet - a kind of literary program (four ages of a person from birth to death; four directions of light and the sun's path through the sky). However, Vivaldi's music carries much more color and meaning than any words. The Hermitage ensemble and the violinist Ilya Norshtein, the winner of international competitions, the permanent accompanist of the ensemble, easily convince the audience.
In the second part, the musicians will perform "The Seasons in Buenos Aires" - a cycle of four compositions by Astor Piazzolla, whose compositions have changed the traditional idea of tango. Tiago Nuevo Piazzolla, enriched with elements of jazz and classical music, never ceases to amaze and fascinate - especially when his music is performed by real masters.
