The premiere of the play will take place on October 14, 2016 on the New Stage of the Vakhtangov Theater!
The first bell ... The first school day ... Boys and girls, full of life and joy, full of hope tell about themselves, about parents, about their dreams. So begins their general biography. So the play "Our class" begins. With these ten guys during the play, we will live ten lives. They will be friends, have fun, quarrel, put up, fight. They will save and betray each other, love, be jealous, hate. And only one they will never be able to tear up that invisible thread that their lives are connected with. For - "a classmate is like a relative".
In 2008, the Polish playwright Tadeusz Slobodzianek wrote a play, the title of which called for realizing the hard lessons of history - "Our class. History in 14 lessons. " The action begins in a small town in the late 1920s, and the fate of the characters - Polish and Jewish boys and girls from the same class - can be traced to our days. Ten heroes of the play have real prototypes, and the events described in the play did take place in the Polish town of Yedvabne.
Director of the play Natalia Kovaleva: "In 2000 Y. T. Gross's book" Neighbors "about Yedvabne was published. She caused a shock in Polish society, splitting him into two camps: those who wished and did not want to admit their guilt. For the Poles, this is the history of their country. But even in the history of our country there are difficult pages. And this is not just history - and today we often have to make a difficult choice. We answer for our act ourselves. How to do it so that you do not get overwhelmed by late repentance? While working on the performance, I often asked myself: "What would I do?" And the excuse that the heroes of the play "What could I do?" Is not the answer. So for me it's a universal story. Wherever a person is clamped into the fist of the dictatorship, he ceases to be a man - he becomes a wolf, encased in red flags: from fear, he sows evil around himself and as a result can not live himself. How to jump out for the flags ?? I think that it is necessary to talk about difficult lessons in history with people in the language of the theater - for it is simple and straightforward: here before a living person (spectator) a living person (artist) lives for a couple of hours, revealing the secret mechanisms of man's destiny - the connection of his past with Present and future.
Tadeusz Slobodzianek is not a chronicler who "indifferently listens to good and evil." He is deeply troubled by eternal questions, he is fighting for man. Therefore, it reaches the depth of the artistic generalization of phenomena. The play "Our class" was marked by the main literary prize of Poland Nike. When handing it to the author it was noted that while there are such writers in Poland, one can look optimistically into the future.
Review
They are just schoolchildren, their life is careless, and it seems to them that complicated questions are far, far away, and there are no insoluble mysteries ...
But time suddenly sweeps away the childish gullibility, leaving only anger and anger in souls: inhuman years turn a person into a non-human ...
Their actions can now mortally wound, destroy the one with whom they sat at one desk yesterday, they taught lessons ...
Once and forever, friends or enemies, they are each other's classmates, they will not forget former schoolmates ...

“ Unusual format. Action on the stage at first did not understand, then tried not to lose the thread, and after the performance there was a heavy sediment on my soul. But nevertheless, the performance really liked. Most likely, I would go again to reconsider the lost.
“ A wonderful, very emotional performance. Despite the fact that the topic raised is very difficult (the extermination of Jews in Poland), the play looks at one go. Young artists put on all 100. Thank you!
“ October 14, 2016 was at the premiere of the play "Our class". I was shocked by what I saw. It seems that the school, classmates - the topic is not new, and it is always interesting to know what will happen to the guys after school, how their life will turn out. But the author of the play in a special way reveals this topic. Classmates - "more than family", but different people, different in nationality, character, worldview - swirled a whirlwind of history ... In one breath watched the play. Everything in the production is actual, vital, truthful. Forget this performance will not work. It will not be possible to forget the amazing play of the actors, the work of the choreographer and, most importantly, the work of the director. Thank you for "Our class"!
