to the 200th anniversary of F.M. Dostoevsky
How to tell children about mercy, about compassion and love for one's neighbor, about the strength of spirit that is needed to withstand the blows of fate and remain human at the same time? We want to talk about these important things in simple, child-friendly language.
Dostoevsky is considered a difficult writer, the author of large, serious novels. But we propose to start with small stories and carefully introduce our viewers into the world of Dostoevsky's images and humanistic values.
In the center of the play is the writer. Standing at the desk, he tries to compose a story and recalls his childhood, about the girl from a wealthy house whom he loved. He is still haunted by poverty and the ridicule of others, but he finds the strength to help someone who is even worse. Try it at least.
Together with the main character, we will look into the windows of St. Petersburg of the 19th century - into luxurious ballrooms and beggar rooms, as well as plunge into the world of the writer's work, his manuscripts and drafts.
The performance will use both traditional shadow puppets and modern video projections.
