The famous Russian theater and film actress who won the hearts of millions of viewers after the release of the gangster saga "Brigada", Ekaterina Guseva this evening will surprise even those who have long appreciated the versatility of her talent. To the list of roles in films and TV series ("Manchurian Hunt", "Tanker" Tango "," Save Our Souls "," Palm Sunday "," A Village Story "," Thin Ice "," Two Against Death "," A. L.Zh.I.R. "and others) and musicals (" Nord-Ost "," Beauty and the Beast "," The Sound of Music "," Karamazovs "), another role will be added - the role of a geisha in a new musical and theatrical project “Chio-Chio-san. A Geisha's Tale ”.
The image of Madame Butterfly, oddly enough, largely echoes the image of a romantic young lady in love with a crime boss, but with a turn of history to the East and with the addition of a tragic accent (after all, hara-kiri takes place!). The stage partner of Ekaterina Guseva will be Sergey Li, a recognized star of Russian musicals. The atmosphere and color of the mysterious Land of the Rising Sun, cherry blossoms, the cult of minimalism and asymmetry, will be recreated by the National Academic Orchestra of Folk Instruments of Russia. N.P. Osipova.
The poignant love story of a Japanese girl, cynically deceived by a US naval officer, is familiar to many thanks to the opera by Giacomo Puccini. The plot is borrowed from the drama of the same name by David Belasco (1900), written based on the story "Madame Butterfly" by American writer John Luther Long (1898), inspired in turn by the autobiographical novel "Madame Chrysanthemum" by French writer and traveler Pierre Loti.
