Musical and poetic performance “Hooligan. Confession".
Sergey Yesenin. Poet brawler. Poet hooligan. He remained forever a man of mystery, with a tragic fate. Many directors and documentaries tried to reveal his image, to lift the veil of secrecy to his tragic death. But no one tried to tell us, and who is he, Sergei Yesenin?
In the musical-poetic play “Hooligan. Confession "songs to the poems of Yesenin and the verses themselves performed by Sergey Bezrukov are woven into the tragic story of the fate of the great Russian poet. In two hours, his whole life will sweep in front of us: his dreams and disappointments, throwing and heartache, love, poetry - and the tragic finale. This is the poet's confession, in which there is not a single fictional line: all the words that sound in the play belong to Yesenin himself.
The creators of the performance are sure that Yesenin can not only be read - Yesenin can be danced, Yesenin can and must be sung. In the performance, both rock percussion and incendiary tango and lyrical ballads are played. Different styles and genres of art are combined to show us how different Sergey Yesenin himself was.
Sergei Bezrukov: “Hooligan” - this is what Yesenin himself called himself, and that’s what they are most often represented. We in Russia love desperate guys. A sort of shirt-guy, a ruffian with an explosive temperament - this image is very tight in the national consciousness, it lies on the surface and it is taunted. But after all, there is Esenin-lyric, vulnerable, thin and at the same time a rebel with a tragic fate, similar to the fate of Russia itself. Therefore, I strive to show Yesenin different. Because he really was different: he also has romantic poems, and at the very beginning there were also poems with a religious bias. Then time changed, the Bolsheviks came to power, and the word “god” was deleted from all publications of the Yesenin’s poems, Yesenin was very indignant about this. But at the end of his life he already wrote: “It is a shame to me that I believed in God, it is bitter to me that I do not believe now.” The unbelief that struck the people with the arrival of the Bolsheviks, of course, was the cause of despair for the poet. Desperate spirit, restless spirit - this is what makes Yesenin truly popular. Note that not every poet is such; not every poet is loved and read like Yesenin. It is not enough of them: it is, certainly, Pushkin, Yesenin, Vysotsky. These are folk poets. They even resemble each other in their lush energy, fascinating, desperate, to break. ”
