Almost two years have passed since my friend and I went to the play "All Ways Lead to the North" from the Ballet Moscow Theater on the stage of the Stanislavsky Theater. And then it turned out that not only adults can enjoy modern dance, because especially for children, the Moscow Ballet has two whole performances: "Thumbelina" 0+ and a new performance "The Wizard of Oz" 6+. During the quarantine, the January Blonde got carried away with computer games, so for him to go to the ballet, where each action resembles the completion of a mission in the game, and the scenery and costumes of the characters are constantly referring to Minecraft in a pixel square, and makes you remember about endermen (black mobs) and creepers ( green kamikaze mobs). Perhaps very little ones can be a little scared, because there are many battles, missions, obstacles in the performance, but older children will appreciate the dynamism. The main idea that our strength is in unity and brotherhood, in my opinion, is read very quickly, because only together the heroes of the classic work of Lyman Frank Baum "The Amazing Wizard of Oz" and the book by Alexander Volkov "The Wizard of the Emerald City" can cope with everything and to reach the Boss, in this case the Wizard, who gives the Rewards. Everything is like in the Game, everything is like in Life. We also liked the choreography (Toto was especially successful - Andrey Tikhonov), the costumes: what a luxurious mane Lev (Azamat Ishkin) has, why -that I took it at first for Fire. The most fascinating scene with the Poppies, to the music of Murat Kabardokov, immerse the audience in a hypnotic state of delight. The ballet takes 1 hour 15 minutes with an intermission, for the kids, who were very many in the hall, it can be too long, but they will be able to sit out the first action.In front of KZ Izmailovo there is ample parking, and the metro with ground transport stops is literally 10 minutes away. but to leave the shift, for this you don't even need to contact the employees, they show the shelf where the mothers leave the packages. Before the play, kids have a place to run in the foyer, decorated with fancy lights. There is a small buffet that accepts cards, but it is one, and the queue cannot be avoided.

They are drawn to talk and to voice at least something. Literally every new scene is accompanied by a hum in different voices like: “Mom! It's the Lumberjack! " An interesting effect, curious. And not stressful at all. On the contrary, it is pleasant to observe genuine involvement, especially when it is with respect towards artists and spectators, in a whisper. The fairy tale looks at one breath and leaves a feeling of celebration. The performance is recommended from six years old. And although, of course, everything is individual - plus / minus, I would like the parents to take into account the recommendation and not take the kids at all. Now the theater's performances are held at the Izmailovo Concert Hall with a spacious and comfortable hall. We had ideal seats in the center of the seventh row (better visibility and the price is more pleasant than the sixth row). I strongly advise you to take just such😉.

In the fairy tale there were good and evil wizards, a cowardly lion, a woodcutter, a scarecrow stuffed animal. ... Friends, overcoming all difficulties, were able to free the inhabitants of a magical land from insidious and evil sorceresses, and Ellie and Totoshka returned home to Kansas. ... Since the child, as they say, "did not come in" classical ballet, he had to look for other options for dance performances. Even before the quarantine, I was lucky enough to attend the "adult" performance of the Ballet Moscow - a very beautiful breakthrough into another dimension of dance, light and music. It seemed to me that a children's production in this theater should also be good, at least unusual. Therefore, we could not miss the play "The Wizard of Oz", especially since this is one of my daughter's favorite books. And we did not regret at all that we got to Izmailovo on a cold winter day! Because we attended a bright, festive, beautiful and extraordinary performance, had a great time and got a lot of pleasant impressions. First of all, the ballet leaves a very pleasant impression. As my six-year-old said thoughtfully during the intermission: "Yes, Mom, they dance in a very unusual way. But beautifully. Better than classical ballet." The choreographers of the theater Anastasia Kadruleva and Artem Ignatiev coped with their task one hundred percent. The dances are not just good (and some are so simply incendiary, especially the "moonwalk" in the final release), they still managed to fully convey all the adventures of Ellie and her friends in a magical land. Moreover, everything is completely understandable even for children. Of course, set and costume designer Dmitry Razumov also played a role here, creating memorable and at the same time some unusually solid images of the heroes. The story itself is framed in an unusual and modern way - it is not entirely clear whether Ellie is taken to a magical land by a hurricane or the girl gets into a computer game that must be completed in order to return home. But really, all these adventures in a magical land are very similar to the levels of the quest, and the authors of the play indicate Level 1, Level 2 on the screen ... Oh yes, I forgot to say - a very important role in the play is played by the video screen on the backdrop, which acts like a separate decoration, where we see forests, fields, a yellow brick road, a poppy field (while poppies still have a separate dance) and much more. The performance even involves video artist Mikhail Zaikanov, and I liked his work. A separate function in ballet is performed by light - everything around becomes red, purple, blue, and in the Emerald City it even seems that Goodwin lives in the Matrix (and controls it :) And, of course, beautiful young dancers - beautiful, graceful, agile , mysterious, different ...

I think that almost all reviews of these performances start with the same words “it was very unusual”. And there is nothing surprising in this, because, as it seems to me, we all use the same pattern for the word “ballet”. And in the ballet "Moscow" we will not see girls in white tutus dancing the immortal dance of swans. Instead, the girls in white office shirts converge in a passion and erotic dance: There are no lakes, castles, or fabulous living rooms. In general, there is no scenery, there is only a ruthless play of light, color and shadow. There is no Tchaikovsky’s music that carries away in fantasy, there is music more reminiscent of the works of Jean-Michel Jarre, owned by German, Japanese and Dutch composers - bewitching, a little otherworldly, making you remember the pulse of the temples, the rhythm of the big city. This is another art, not like what we are used to. This is a modern art based on ancient Greek myths - an extraordinary combination. This is a Dutch ballet, where choreographers have only an indirect relation to the Netherlands (choreographer Juanho Arques - Spaniard, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa - half Colombian, half Belgian). In general, you can probably say that this is the art of the world's citizens, not related to their nationality. And the effect is stunning (I, of course, not about those who went to this performance purposefully, I'm about those who, like us, visited it for the first time). At first, disbelief, shock, rejection, and then the realization of how beautiful it is, how beautiful the human body is, how magnificent what the dancers do. You have to come here with a professional camera and take pictures, take pictures, if, of course, they allow it. Of course, A special role in the play is played by Ot Clemann, the performer of Theseus’s parts (? I’m a little unsure which of these were Theseus, and which is the Minotaur) and the unusual Eros, who is not at all like Cupid-Amurchik. How many emotions, passions and strength! What a magnificent plastic - the body as if spills from pose to pose, flows, flows. For his sake alone it was worth a look. Yes, yes, there is something devilishly scary in the god of love. But let's think about how much misfortune mankind brought the all-consuming passion, which he rules? Does she always give only happiness? Is everyone ready to accept her? In a word, an amazing action: there is something to see, and there is something to think about, which, you see, is not typical for every ballet.

I finally watched "Thumbelina" from Ballet Moscow! I really wanted to get to this performance, having seen enough in the photo of magnificent costumes! The company was my sons! After all, this is a children's ballet! The fairy tale "Thumbelina" is slightly changed here! Instead of a lonely woman, an Thumbelina appears in the girl Sonya and she lodges her in her toy house! This fairy tale turned out to be an ideal basis for children's ballet! Children with such excitement guessed which of the dancers depicts which insect! They really liked the spider, such an interesting and frightening image! Costumes met my expectations! Very unusual and beautiful! And again, a plus for the children - it is clear who is who! A suit Thumbelina resembled a bud of a delicate flower! I do not understand ballet at all, this is just our second trip to it! But as far as I can tell, in this performance classical choreography and modern are mixed! To the music of Tchaikovsky (Seasons cycle) and the sounds of nature! And it’s also unusual that the human heroes here say this, probably in order to emphasize the difference between them and insects! In the ballet there are 2 acts of approximately 40 minutes, the children will not have time to get bored! We were in the CC ZIL, a very comfortable room! The amphitheater is perfect, visible from everywhere, so you can save on tickets!

At the weekend we visited a ballet staged by "Ballet Moscow" "Thumbelina" in the cultural center ZIL. I can mark very beautiful costumes! At the scene of scenery at least, but the costumes take us to a fairy tale. The unusual image of a snail, which slowly and slowly carried a huge shell. A terrible big spider with a lot of legs, a mouse, a mole, a swallow, May beetles - thanks to the costumes, the characters are easily recognized by children! And this is wonderful, because after all, ballet is a more complex representation, figurative, and if the child does not understand what is happening on the stage, then he will be bored. There is no such thing! The first part of the ballet was about 35 minutes and 20 minutes after intermission. Just right for the kids! Ballet 6+ and this is a very accurate age recommendation. It is short, clear and very well suited for the first acquaintance of the child with the ballet. But I still think that a child cannot understand ballet until the age of six. Yes, he can enjoy a beautiful dance, but it is unlikely to understand the meaning, even knowing the fairy tale. And if small children are not interested, then they start to make noise and disturb other viewers in the hall. The best places in my opinion are the amphitheater in the center - you can see everything in full view, even with a small child. The downside is that there is very little legroom, literally 10 cm between the edge of the chair and the back of the next one. But for the sake of such beauty and fashionable to suffer. Very beautiful ballet! My daughter and I are impressed!

Here is all the most important of the “adult” ballet - beautiful music, in this case, P. Tchaikovsky “The Seasons” and unusually expressive, plastic movements with elements of acrobatics and ballet. Pointe shoes are present, even though they are few. But my son and I had enough of a magnificent combination of music and dance, somehow I hadn’t thought much about pointes. By the way, when the day before I announced to Max in a joyful voice that today we are going to the ballet, he built a face that looked more like a definition of “tragedy” rather than “ballet”, but I offered to try once. And already in the middle of the performance, I was informed in a mysterious whisper that from now on we would go to the ballet. The performance-ballet goes on the stage of the ZIL Cultural Center. The hall is small, compact. It seemed to me that the most successful places are 1-3 rows of the amphitheater. Big rise, you can see everything is fine, the scene is near. The presentation is certainly designed for children. And although 0+ is written in the program, some parents literally understood it. In the hall were pectoral! children and okologrudnye. I wonder if parents understand that they are torturing both their children, and those around them, and the artists? That was probably the only negative of our campaign. Periodic crying, shouts, shouts of shhhhh clearly distracting and, to put it mildly, upset. I would still put the age limit 5+. Before the presentation, be sure to take the libretto. It is distributed absolutely free. The tale has been slightly modified, but after reading the brief content, everything becomes completely clear. Max really liked to guess what it was like, tadpoles, and these are predatory Rosyanki, and these are Elves. There are many heroes, but they are all recognizable and no confusion arises. Beautiful costumes, a variety of characters we really liked. Even the Wind was immediately and easily recognized. An interesting decision, when on stage two realities go as if in parallel. The girl has a dollhouse, in which Thumbelina lives, and a girl, through a toy window, examines what is happening in the house. Immediately on the stage, we see what is happening inside the house, and the projections on the wall show us the windows of our house and the eyes of the girl, who is closely watching what is happening. Most of all we liked Thumbelina performed by Christina Rumshina. And the huge bouquets of flowers after the presentation meant only one thing, not only we really liked it. Thanks to all the creators of the production for a wonderful evening! I am very pleased that you can acquaint children with art so easily, understandably and beautifully!

We really wanted to go to the theater, see how real actors play the mouse and understand how to stay on the kindergarten stage. ⠀ And so, the power of thought works! ⠀ We didn’t just make a wonderful statement of a fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen, but a ballet for children at the Ballet Theater Moscow! ⠀ The plot of the fairy tale is slightly modified. The girl Sonya receives a seed as a gift from the elves, in the house for dolls a small Thumbelina grows from it. ⠀ The action of the performance takes the viewer inside the dollhouse, to the swamp with the water striders and snails, into the mink of the mouse, to the ball to the mole, with the swallow we take off into the sky and dance with the elves. ⠀ All this is perfectly realized with the help of decorations, multimedia projection on the screen, sound design, colorful costumes! ⠀ Indescribable beauty costumes of butterflies, dragonflies, spider, tadpoles, and the snail shell conquered our heart and daughter! ⠀ Dance of autumn leaves, winter snowflakes fascinates to shiver! ⠀ All this creates an atmosphere of celebration, a fantastic, fairy-tale world, pleases the eye and the soul! ⠀ Separately, I want to say about the music. ⠀ The play features a cycle of works by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky “The Seasons”, the benefits of which for the development of children and the mood of adults have long been proven. ⠀ It is necessary to teach the small audience to classical music, in combination with the plastic and charm of the ballet - the undoubted merit of the creators of the ballet "Thumbelina". ⠀ Ballet is held at the site of the cultural center ZIL. This is the former Palace of Culture of the Likhachev Plant. ⠀ In the hall there is a wonderful slope of the rows, even a better view from the amphitheater, there is a more gentle rise in the stalls. ⠀ I would put the age limit on 5+, for all the kids it was hard to comprehend the art of ballet. ⠀ Now we are ready to speak at the festival, not only remember the character of the mouse, but also tried to dance as we could our party! Choreographer Alexander Pepelyaev presented his vision of Dostoevsky's famous novel Idiot. If you are wondering how it is possible to put a huge romance in an hour and a half ballet - this performance (laureate of the Russian National Theater Award “Golden Mask” -2016 in the nomination “Modern Dance / Best Performance”) will help to answer it. The action takes place in the cafe Idiot - this is a kind of place to which the viewer comes, perhaps without even thinking about any novel, where different things start happening to him in a mystical, dostoevsky way. In the foreground are cafe tables, and the characters are a lot of dancers, women and men, in bright red costumes stylized as the second half of the 19th century. Nastasya Filippovna stands out among them - at the beginning in a white dress, an innocent young girl, then she grows up, falls into a whirlpool of passion, and now people in red are already exposing her, leaving only underwear. A quiet child's voice reads excerpts from the novel, about Nastasya Filippovna’s childhood, about Prince Myshkin’s epilepsy. It really helps to clarify what is happening on stage. It is interesting that each artist of the novel is represented on the stage by several artists: the images flow one into the other, and you catch yourself thinking that it is not clear whether Myshkin or Rogozhin, Aglaya or Nastasya Filippovna are in front of you. Is it really important? Plastic performance perfectly conveys the impressions arising from the reading of "Idiot". Lyubov Myshkina to Nastasya Filippovna, her lostness and loneliness, Rogozhin's jealousy. Nastasia Filippovna’s throwing between Myshkin and Rogozhin, as well as several variants of her death, are very gracefully shown. I think that the play deserves its “Golden Mask” - an incredibly beautiful visual component, an amazing plastic of artists and a deep philosophical meaning, all that is so valued in contemporary art!

Last week, the boys and I went to the ballet "Thumbelina" from Ballet Moscow. I want to teach children to beautiful art now. I strongly recommend everyone to study the libretto before the ballet (they give out free programs at the entrance), so it will be much easier and more interesting for the kids to watch. I liked the scene design very much. Huge multimedia screens, the animation for which was prepared by Studio 7BIOZ, helped to create a fabulous atmosphere. The ballet is modern, not classic. Almost all the characters dance without pointe shoes, in pointe we see only Thumbelina and elves, perhaps this is done in order to show their exaltation. The choreographers of Anastasia Kadruleva and Artyom Ignatiev managed to create a dance that is understandable for both children and adults. The costumes are very interesting. Thumbelina looks like a flower: it was dressed in a pink short flying board, reminiscent of a rose bud and bright green tights. Very effects costumes leaves, mole, mice. Of the characters I liked the mole most of all - Azamat Ishkin. He has some kind of incredible plastic, his every movement enchants. The children really liked the Thumbelina dance (Alexandra Kirschina) with the Swallow (with Semyon Ilyin) and the Thumbelina dance with the elf (Mikhail Kirshin). My boys took the girl Sonya (Eric Asai) for Thumbelina’s mother, before the first act we didn’t read the program) The children appreciated that there is a sound in this ballet, a cry, minimal, but the words ... The presentation does not last long. Just over an hour, and even with an intermission. During the break, the children rushed in, rested, and looked at the fairy tale with pleasure. We liked the ballet!) We’ll definitely come back!) The first interlude that reminded gymnastic exercises didn’t fall in love with itself. You should not rely on modern dance, the rhythm and sequence of movements is not yet a dance, but only a drawing, maybe just a sketch of an image ... But then, according to the laws of drama, it became all addictive and fascinating. Music, detached from images, became a continuation of the movement. Not forming the beginning of the dance, but its reflection. Continuing the bends of the hips and plexus hands. Forming a special language, its melody, its sound. Sometimes you think about erotica, what should it be, how to express it? How to be reflected in the dance, not going to symbolism or gender monotony? How should express feelings penetrated by eroticism? Stage eroticism, which is formed not by tight-fitting costumes and muscular bodies, not by hints and movements, but by choreographic images. One global picture, consisting of plastics of many bodies and large emotional images. Kirill Radev bowed to classical ballet, synthetically weaving into it the irregularity of his vision. Lighting solutions that enhance the perception of the drawn images, created by artists Luis Perdigero and Rebecca Vicente Arnaldos. Slawna Martinovic, costume designer, succinctly added the finishing touches to this magnificence.

Recently, I was able to once again come into contact with the beautiful in the face of the Ballet Moscow Theater. This time I watched Sound Architecture. This turned out to be completely new to me impressions. A small ballet connoisseur, so far I have limited myself to “plot” performances — for example, the Kreutzer Sonata here. This time I went to neoclassical ballets, in which the content, plot, narration of events is not the main thing. All that was known to us, the audience, was that the first act was Konstantin Semenov’s labyrinth to music by Boris Tchaikovsky, and the second was Kirill Radev’s Three Poems to the music of Yury Abdokov. It turned out that such a "plotless" ballet is incredibly beautiful, subtle and sensual. The beauty of the human body, the harmony of music and movement, the accuracy of the lines and incredible energy. There is no live music here, of course, but the sound quality is excellent. And in the first part, in “Labyrinth”, the recording of the concert is used, in which the author of music is the soloist - Boris Tchaikovsky. By the way, this music has never been interpreted before on the ballet scene! Hayato Nasijima is the soloist in the Labyrinth, whom I remembered from the Sonata. Very very beautiful! Still, ballet is a universal art, its language is clear to everyone. Makes you immerse yourself in music, feel every movement ... I start to love "Ballet Moscow" :)

"Medea" and "Equus" are modern one-act ballets, which I looked at the other day by my favorite ballet Moscow. Short, bright, beautiful and very expressive. Jealousy, protest and other destructive feelings - companions of ruined love - are pushing Medea to murder, and the final is tragic. Crazy passion, dreams of happiness, pain and suffering in every look and gesture of Lyudmila Doksomova. Modern ballet has its own language, its own aesthetics of movement. A lot of choreography on the floor and contact, dancers can not tear themselves apart, adding passion or tenderness, and from this the dance looks even more beautiful. I like it very much when they are dancing barefoot, in usual clothes, Medea was incredibly fragile and thin, and these features perfectly emphasized her long black skirt and stylish casual button-down blouse. “Hitting the strings of the soul”, “carving the fire in the hearts of people” is just what this modern ballet manages. There is no need to talk much, you need to see, feel, live. "Equus" is an interesting performance about the exhausting work of ballet, requiring daily exercises and mental strength. Behind the beautiful light and graceful world and beautiful smiles there is so much work and tension. The dancers move mechanically, hysterically and try to show the viewer what they went through in order to achieve perfection and perfection. Why do I love "ballet Moscow"? Their performances are filled with expression, they surprise, and you always discover something new for yourself!

For some time I have also become a fan of this theater. This time we were presented a program from two ballets “Medea” and “Equus”. When I was going to the show, I was particularly attracted to "Medea" - and the antiquity of the plot, and the name of the choreographer - it was interesting how Cyril Simonov interprets the supertragic myth. But all the shortcomings of the performance were bathed for me by the fact that Medea was dancing Lyudmila Doksomova - from the very first seconds she completely attracted attention and did not let go until the end of the ballet. Her flexible, expressive, weightless body spoke more about the soul of a suffering woman than all the other components of the play. Unfaithful Jason, a blonde ruler, Medea's shadows in veils - it was all a second time — Lyudmila Doksomova did the ballet. But “Equus” went with a bang - and the neoclassical style of choreography was more easily perceived, and the idea of ​​the performance in choreography by Anastasia Kadruleva and Artyom Ignatiev - we are all a little horse, corps de ballet-stable, tutor-breeder - witty and entertaining.
