According to the director, his main task was "to make poetry, music, which is self-valuable, sublime, intangible and intangible, not to do something carnal and material when" transferring "it to the theater. It becomes possible if you give yourself up to feelings, fly beautiful music and do not a plot, as is customary in the theater, but something in the basis of which - a push at the level of emotions ... ".

Four singers, the heroine of Ivan Popovsky's musical performance Absinthe, like this favorite drink of the Parisian bohemia of the late 19th century, immerse the audience in shimmering hallucinations, in which he is the decadent, languid and reckless, heady and wicked world of Montmartre from the times of Toulouse-Lautrec and Van Gogh, Verlaine and Rimbaud.

The performance became a laureate of the festival "Ohrid summer 2006" in Macedonia. For the first time in the history of the festival, the prize in the nomination "Best Actress" was awarded to four actresses simultaneously.
