On February 25 and 26, 2021, the Army Theater invites you to the premiere of the play "Balagan" directed by Danil Chashchin
The play "Balagan" was written by the American playwright Charles Morey in 2001, he calls it "a declaration of love for the theater."
This is a comedy about a provincial theater and its actors, which takes place in a large barn, converted into a theater. He, the theater, is called "Balagan".
The plot of the play is absolutely universal: a small troupe of a beggar theater tries to survive in difficult conditions. Her heroes are those who create the theater: they are the artistic director, head of the troupe, director, director, artist, actors and theater trainees. Despite the circumstances, each of them does not lose optimism, believes in his vocation and that the theater will be a great success in the future. The situations in which the heroes find themselves are often tragicomic, full of humor, tender irony and, of course, love.
The director of the play Danil Chashchin says: “The idea of the play was born during a pandemic, when theatrical life came to a standstill. Then this thought appeared: even if fewer people go to the theater, it is still needed and important. The creators need it first of all. The word "amateur", if we are talking about amateur theater, has this root - to love. And in such a theater - real life, it is more than just a theater, it is always a common cause, in which there is friendship and support. And such a theater is always not about money, but about something much more significant. I wanted to make a play about this play, about it.
