Among the first attempts of A.P. Chekhov wrote for the theater to create a free genre of “comedy-novel”, devoid of obligatory external entertaining, which almost ended with the decision not to write any more plays. One of these experiences was the comedy "Leshy". Nevertheless, the writer did not leave experiments in drama, some time after writing and premiere of his famous play “The Seagull” even began to prepare for publication a collection of his drama. It included a new thing, created on the basis of the very comedy “Leshy” - “Uncle Vanya”. The new play continued the innovative ideas of Chekhov's dramaturgy, in which external conflict and intrigue gave way to internal, psychological conflict.
Above the play by A.P. Chekhov's “Uncle Vanya” worked as a graduate of a directing course at Evgeny Kamenkovich at RATA-GITIS Ilya Rothenberg from Yekaterinburg. In 2017, he was a member of the creative laboratory "Fourth Height" in the Kiselev TYuZ. A sketch of the documentary play by Irina Vaskovskaya “Everything will be fine” by Ilya Rotenberg based on interviews with artists received very good reviews from viewers and critics and has already entered the repertoire of the theater, and it was decided to continue collaboration with the director in the new season. The “classics” course announced two years ago by the Saratovsky Theater of Youth and the creative interests of the director coincided - Anton Pavlovich Chekhov’s play “Uncle Vanya” was chosen for the new work of Ilya Rotenberg in Saratov.
