In late October, the theater will present the premiere of Claudio Monteverdi's opera Orpheus. The performance will be the only staging in Moscow of this masterpiece of ancient, pre-baroque music, and will take place in an unusual space. Considering that under the direction of Isahakyan, several completely new theatrical scenes have already appeared in the Children's Musical Theater (for example, on the improvised "stage in the foyer" there are already three mini-operas for the youngest spectators, in the Painting Shop of the Theater, the hall where the scenery is painted, a unique "Opera on the Gregorian cantus" by Vladimir Martynov "Exercises and dances Guido", on the renovated Maly scene for a few years a huge and very diverse repertoire - opera, ballet, performances of mixed genres) - you can be sure: those tr and this time to surprise the audience, and a visit to the Children's music turn into an exciting journey.

"Surprisingly, the first samples of the opera as a genre were its greatest peaks, which four centuries ago and today are admired," says Georgy Isahakyan, one of the discoverers and propagandists of the ancient operas in Russia, a director who has staged a number of operas of the Baroque and Renaissance , among them - Alzina and Heracles by Georg Friedrich Handel, Christophe Gluck's "Chinese woman", Claudio Monteverdi's Orpheus, Emilio de Cavalieri's "The Game of the Soul and the Body", Juan Hidalgo de Polanco and others. Thanks to him today in Moscow, at the Natalia Sats Theater, you can see the ancient operas - and not in the format of the festival show, but as repertoire performances. He became the initiator of the "Vintage Opera Week", which includes performances and master classes by maestro Andrew Lawrence-King, the world-famous virtuoso harpist, founder of the ensemble The Harp Consort, winner of the Grammy, Echo, Gramophone, etc., one from the most authoritative world performers and conductors of ancient music. Together with him, George Isahakyan organized in the theater the Academy of the ancient opera Opera Omnia.

And today the Theater of Natalia Sats has turned into a real center of the ancient opera in Moscow. "Orpheus" Claudio Monvederdi will be the fourth repertoire of the cycle "Ancient Opera at the Natalia Sats Theater", which already includes "Alcina or the Magic Island" by Georg Friedrich Handel, "The Game of the Soul and Body" by Emilia de Cavalieri, the first Italian opera 1600 the year of creation, and "Love Kills" by Juan Hidalgo de Polanco on the libretto by Pedro Klderona, the first Spanish opera written in 1660.

"Orpheus" will be in Italian with Russian subtitles.
