"Thumbelina" by K. K. Andersen is not only among the most read and revered children's fairy tales, but also in the clip of the most popular names in the theatrical repertoire for children. Theater "Through the Looking Glass" also could not stay away from this magical story, while reading it as a musical tale.

Surely modern children and their parents will be able to guess the subtexts hidden both in Andersen and in the play itself. And then the history of Thumbelina will not only be an occasion for a merry pastime in the theater, but also food for thought. A tiny fragile girl - and the large, very rough world around her ... How not to lose yourself, to become stronger than the "environment"? Some vague realization of one's destiny causes her to flee from toads and beetles - she is dragged uncontrollably upwards, to the sky: "It seems - make an effort, and take away my wings!". What an invaluable gift - to be able to listen to yourself, and, despite stuffy burrows and marshy swamps, go to your dream. "Thumbelina" in "Through the Looking Glass" is not only a musical fairy tale, but also a kind of a lesson for today's children: how not to get bogged down in the life quagmire and find your own wings.

Thanks to musical and theatrical wonders, the appearance of Thumbelina from a flower will seem to the audience a real magic.
