How hard it is to part with your past ... And then everything collapses. We must urgently sell our home and garden. How can this be experienced?
The landowner Ranevskaya made many mistakes. She did little for children, made debts, spent most of her life abroad, where her daughter sent her income from the estate. She is beautiful, vulnerable, but strong in spirit.
Her blooming cherry garden is a memory of her childhood years, about her father's house, about the first love, about family happiness, about the little son who drowned in the river next to the estate.
All members of her family talk about the need to sell a cherry orchard, except Ranevskaya. The aristocrat simply drops the phrase: "The dacha is so vulgar."
It would seem that we are talking about real estate sales. A serious approach is needed. And Ranevskaya perceives a flowering garden as part of her life. The market approach is deeply alien to it.
But inaction is disastrous - the garden goes to another owner. They sell beauty ... They throw all the forgotten unfortunate old man.
